Not worth what I paid
The material is a hard plasyic/resin. Held tohether by pmastic bolts. The door does not close all the way when it is bolted leaves a 1/4in crack at end . The color on the item is not cinsistant and has alot of color spots where it lighter. I purchased the gray but it looks washed out. Not as large as I was exspecting but works for my Pompsky. UPDATE: Dog was able to break lock on door and bars by pushing on door. Waste of money

Stylish and Functional - you get what you pay for
I recently purchased the Homestead Sliding Barn Door Furniture Style Dog Crate, and I'm quite pleased with it overall. Assembly was mostly straightforward, and while it came with tools, I opted to use a power drill to speed up the process. I was able to put it together all by myself, which was a definite plus. One of the standout features of this crate is its aesthetic appeal. It looks incredibly cute in my home and is a significant upgrade from my old metal crate. I've even repurposed it to hold plants and other decorative items, making it both functional and stylish. However, there are a few drawbacks worth mentioning. The material is more plastic-like than I anticipated, but surprisingly, it's not very noticeable once assembled. The sliding door can be a bit sticky at times, but I've found that keeping it open resolves the issue for me. Additionally, the interior dimensions are slightly off, which means my dog's bed is a tad too big for the space.Despite these minor issues, I'm overall impressed with the Homestead Sliding Barn Door Crate. It adds a charming touch to my apartment, and most importantly, my dog seems to really enjoy it. The value you get for the price is definitely worth it; as they say, you get what you pay for. If you're looking for a crate that combines style and functionality, this one is definitely worth considering.

Poorly Made kennel. does not worth the cost/spend
I received this product with one panel edge separating.I didn't want to go through the return process. So, I attached the loose/separated end using a screw.Assembly of the kennel was fairly simply.Within 2 days I noticed loose bars which began to fall out of position. Conclusion:This product is not sufficiently rugged for the intended use. that is, my pet has a calm temperament and does not try to pry his way out of his kennel. and knowing this, I can only conclude that:1. This definitely is not the kennel for disobedient pet.2. The use life of this product will be short, because within 2 days pieces/parts were coming apart3. This product is of poor quality4. This product is not worth the cost5. I purchased this product on 11/14/2021. Two corners begun separating on 11/26/2021.6. What a waste of my money. If i had the shipping box, I would return this product. So I have placed it outside for bulk trash pickup.7. this product is not worth the sales taxes I paid.8. Cost $355.00+? give me break

Sturdy, but does not open easily on carpet
I had mixed feelings about ordering this crate. The reviews weren't that great. But I have a calm sweet frenchie who's been crate trained from the beginning. So he has no issues when he's in there. He's not a monster who chews his way out. He sits, lays, or chews on his toy till it's time to come out. He won't even bark or whine when being put in.I do think this is a very sturdy crate. Even if he tried, he couldn't get out. We are able to use the top as an end table with potted plants too.My only complaint is the barn door is difficult to slide open and closed on the carpet. If you want a smooth glide to that door, try placing the crate on something first. Like a sheet of plywood if it needs to be on carpet. If you are on hardfloors, it will be a breeze.I would buy this again, I've been very happy with the purchase. Doggo included.

Cost versus Quality
So...I took a chance, even after reading the reviews. I'm going to say a lot of what others have already said. The cost, versus the quality of this product, is just not worth the expense (in my opinion).- When this was delivered today, the first thing I did was check the box for any damage. There was none, so that was good.- Opening the box - the crate parts are packed with styrofoam all around. Ok, so there was another positive.- Took the parts out and found a couple of parts had scuffs on them (one is in the attached pictures)- The top part of the crate had a long break in the side molding. (Picture attached).I decided I could glue the broken molding on the top part. And so I began to put the crate together.- the sliding door has a lock you attach. There were no screw holes in the door for the lock (yet those holes are clearly pictured in the instructions). Being somewhat handy, I drilled pilot holes for the lock, but only after I put the crate together (so I could ensure I'd measure it right).- the main parts of this crate are held together by plastic screws that you can only screw in via the tool they provide (picture attached). It was not easy to get these plastic screws to work with the assembly. And I'm not a fan of having to keep the plastic 'tool' for these screws, in case they need to be replaced.- for the top part of the crate and the plastic screws: I could get three of the 4 required plastic screws to connect. For the 4th one, I had to use the longer, spare, plastic screw.- for the plastic screws in general: many of the holes were not easily aligned. I had to use a lot of force and pressure just to get the screws to 'catch' in the plastic joint, and then I could tighten the screw. The crate comes with a 1 year limited warranty. I'm about to put that to the test as there is a card included that talks about how to get assistance with damaged or missing parts.I really wanted to like this product. I typically view reviews about 'damaged parts' as a fluke and the fault of delivery. The damage I found with this was not due to the delivery process; it is the processing of how the parts are made by this company (I'm sure it has to be a conveyor belt of these parts getting thrown together).I don't know how well this is going to hold up. I got the large crate for two dachshunds. They're small and not heavy, so I suspect this will hopefully work for the two of them. If I had a larger dog for this crate, I'm not certain it would hold up.If the warranty and damaged parts replacement holds true, then I'll likely up my rating.
