Great for a mountain bike on paved or dirt roads
I put these on my Raleigh M-60 MTB, after seeing them here on Amazon. My brother is an avid cyclist, and he recommended them. He runs them on his Surly Ogre (see below). Although the tires are good to 55PSI, he says "they actually roll better at a lower [pressure,] around 45PSI." I was able to mount them on the stock VXC2.2 rims with my bare hands. (By the way, the tires arrived about five days early. I was expecting them on Wednesday, and they arrived the previous Friday. You can't go wrong with under-promise/over-deliver.) They're a little taller than an MTB lug/mud tire, so you may want to check vertical clearances (as well as horizontal) before ordering. But they should fit on any mountain bike with 26" wheels. I had to re-adjust the rear brakes, and I'm not sure why, because it's the same rim. They look great on the M-60, and they ride just as well. There's some extra rolling resistance, compared to a road bike running 25mm tires at 100PSI, but it's only noticeable if you're using an app to track your rides. Then you can see your top speed was slightly slower, and it took an extra minute to finish the ride. In other words, the added resistance is only important if you're competing. But if you have to veer into the grass, or take a dirt/gravel road, you'll appreciate the extra versatility over a road bike tire. I have a gravel driveway, and I don't feel a need to walk the MTB over it like I do the road bike. On the driveway, the tires feel planted, no juking left/right like the road bike. The only drawback I've noticed so far is that they do make some road noise, enough to notice above the wind noise, and it's very similar to the road noise a distant car makes. I found myself looking over my shoulder on several occasions, when nothing was coming up behind me. Of course, compared to MTB lug/mud tires, they're whisper-quiet on pavement.Bottom line: if you have a mountain bike with 26" rims, and you mostly ride on pavement, dirt roads, or hard-packed (and dry) trails, these tires will work really well for you. My brother says the fit is a little tight on his Ogre (which boasts βFatties Fit Fine"), and "they rub a bit when I make a sharp turn at speed." And yet, they're perfect for my M-60, which predates the fattie trend. I'll swap the lug tires back on if I ever ride the farm fence line, but the Big Apples work for everything else.

Uni-believable
I bought one of these tires for my unicycle. That's right, a unicycle. I do a lot of touring and tricks on my uni, making a bit of money on the side for myself or various charities. I needed a tire that was reliable, puncture resistant, could hand smooth paths, pothole infested roads, and a bit of off-roading. For these various surfaces I was looking for a tire which could alleviate the following: rolling resistance, absorption, and reliability. The rolling resistance is minimal. It is very easy to maintain a constant quick speed even with a fixed gear. It helps that when combining this tire on a 26" rim the actual circumference is around 28". I have a 29" frame and knew that I would have room to spare, but I suggest you double check the clearance on your frame. Paired with a small hand pump, I can increase or decrease the air pressure on the spot for whatever kind of riding is required. Smooth newly paved roads, pump in more air. A bit of off-roading, let a bit of air out for extra grip. Rarely is any adjustment needed; I tend to keep the tube under the tire firm. The grip off road is firm, yet not clingy. I can maneuver the wheel almost as easily as on smooth pavement regardless if I ride over sand, dirt, gravel, or grass. What really amazed me about this tire was the absorption. To absorb any impact all I have is this tire/tube and my legs. That said, I can barely feel bumps and potholes. Descending curbs, stairs, and other small obstacles is much easier. I think that even my bounce has increase by a few inches, though it's hard for me to measure and irrelevant to most other cyclist. As I previously said, I tend to keep the tube pressure high making the tire firm. Despite this, I have not noticed a drop in comfort.I do not make it a point to roll over obstructions, obstacles, or damaging debris, but sometimes it is unavoidable. Scumbags like to throw glass bottles onto the street, apart from the various shards of metal and anything else which tend to ruin your ride. Most of the time you can avoid it, sometimes you can't see it until it's too late. Time will tell how well the tire can withstand these environmental factors. The tire wall seems thick and resilient, plus other reviews have stated their continued use for several years. Obviously the frequency of use is a major factor, but if I can get a solid year out of this tire without loosing a tube to glass or metal shards, I'll be content.Needless to say this tire exceeded my expectations to this point. It has been a month and I have a long ride ahead of me, but from where I'm sitting it'll be an easy cruise. For the curious I mostly ride in urban areas (Brooklynite), but get out of town every few weeks for a nature excursion.

Great protection against flats
Seems we were always getting flats. Since we got these tires we haven't had a single one. Great customer service too.

Big beefy husky boy for my Dahon Speed P8 20" x 2"
I wanted that cushion feel with my 11yo Dahon Speed P8.Replaced same for same 50-406 (20 x 2.00) that I got when I purchased the bike.Note, don't make the mistake I did and install in the incorrect direction.I did flip the tire to the correct rotation, Had made the mistake of wrong direction and felt a slight difference.Good solid cushion tire for a beefy guy on a small bike.Tread wears well at 200-500 miles a year on my originals and hope to get the same with this new pair of tires.

Great street tire, comfy and easy rolling
Replaced some very aggressive mountain bike tires on my old mountain bike which is now used as a street cruiser with these big apples. Couldn't be happier. Absolutely awsome tires for the street. Did bring them in the woods to see if they are usable. I found I can use them on the trails when I take friends in the woods that dont have a bike. I have to lend them my new bike and I use this. Because i can't have anyone getting hurt except me. So if you wanna use for dual purpose i would get a tire with some kinda tread on the sides and a slick center area.

Brilliant mountain bike road tyres
If you're only using your mountain bike on roads then these beauties are the tyres for you. The tread pattern on these is so minimal that they're essentially slick, grippy tyres designed for roads - as opposed to the usual knobbly mountain bike tyres which are designed for cycling off road in mud, and will actually slow you down on a road and make cycling harder work than it needs to be. They're definitely grippy and have a surprisingly low roll resistance for a large tyre, meaning they're fast. They won't lose much grip even in the rain, and when cornering they're a lot more manoeuvrable/responsive than knobbly mountain bike tyres.Initially I fitted two 26 x 2.00s to my MTB as ordering these tyres on line I wasn't sure 2.35s would fit the the bike frame. I've since replaced 26 x 2.00s with these bigger 26 x 2.35s and the bigger tyre definitely makes for a comfier ride - a bit of a surprise as although the 2.35 is bigger it's not massively bigger than the 2.00s.Because they're balloon tyres these also act as suspension (providing you don't inflate them too hard) which is great if your MTB doesn't already have suspension.I run the front tyre at 30psi and the rear at 40psi as most of your weight transfers through the rear tyre not the front, all of which makes for a fast and comfy ride. Even if you can only fit a 2.35 on the rear then take my advice and do so.So far no punctures, but as I don't take the bike off road that's no big surprise (these are NOT off road tyres - the minimal tread means you'll have next to no grip in mud, so if you cycle off road then these aren't the tyres for you). No tyre is puncture proof, but the kevlar in these things means they're much less likely to puncture than most.In short both sizes of these Schwalbe Big Apples fitted onto the wheel easily, the hi viz strip is a bonus at night, the 2.35s in particular DEFINITELY make life more comfortable, and the ride is definitely faster as they offer much less roll resistance than knobbly off road tyres. I love 'em!UPDATE: To my surprise these tyres also coped well on snowy roads today, which considering the tread on these things is minimal is no mean achievement - probably due to the sheer width of these tyres I imagine. The snow wasn't too deep but these Big Apples hardly ever slipped (as long as you don't charge along like a maniac). On deep snow they might still stand a chance if you lowered the tyre pressure, but the lack of a chunky tread pattern would probably count against this. On ice obviously they'd be in trouble, just like any other tyre that isn't a tungsten studded Schwalbe Winter marathon.

Fast but puncture prone.
Don't know if I've been unlucky with these tyres as they seem to get mostly good reviews but I have picked up so many punctures with these tyres I've had to stop using them.Pros- fast, low rolling resistance, holds momentum, comfortable.Cons - expensive, puncture prone.

Nice
Great tyres. Ordered 2 at the same time, for some reason they came a week apart.... No idea why. Anyway great tyres.

Brilliant
Superb tyres. They are massive and look great on my cube acid 29er. Could have gone for the wider size but read some people having fit problems. That wouldn't be a problem on full mountain bikes though.

If you ride a MTB on road you can't go wrong with these!
Had these on for about a year now and average around 200 miles a month. Still have plenty left to go. Not had one punture and they offer unbelievable grip. Loses a little grip in the wet but still perform exceptionally well. Would definately purchase again and highly recommend.
