"If more business books were as useful, concise, and just plain fun to read as THE MCKINSEY WAY, the business world would be a better place." --Julie Bick, best-selling author of ALL I REALLY NEED TO KNOW IN BUSINESS I LEARNED AT MICROSOFT. "Enlivened Review: This book shows in a succinct and accurate way, an overview of some of the best practices any business problem solver should know by heart, and sparks the interest into learning more about them and putting them into practice. - I liked the sequence, the content. I could grasp the essence of a week in the consultant’s life and also understand how I can frame a better way of working with teams and clients in other types of businesses. I missed more details about the concepts past the McKinsey’s problem solving chapters, but I can understand it may be something more out of the scope of this book. Review: Good for beginners in managment consulting - I would definitely recommend this book to someone new trying to break into the world of marketing consulting. Whether it be a small firm or big. Reading through the book was quite easy and even bough it doesn't go deep into detail like how to crack a case. It does provide tips that will definitely help you around the office. As I was reading the book I started realizing how my boss does a lot of the things the book suggests!

God book
I cannot tell how incredible this book is. It is in fact has helped me to understand the area of business consulting. I was struggling in my course until I got this book and read it. The only thing negative I noticed is that the author shows off a lot, otherwise, everything is amazing. One last thing I would like to share is that to attempt to abstract the book, and thus the information would stick in a one's mind.

Full of Generalities
This book is nothing special because it contains no revolutionary\evolutionary business concepts that are unique. To be sure, it contains lot of good business anecdotes you will find in most business books. But if you want to find out what makes McKinsey's business practice so special and so much better than its competitors, the book leaves a lot wanting. Furthermore, the book is full of generalities, for example, the chapter on interviewing for facts was nice, but again, nothing special. You would be far better off buying specialty books on such matters. I think this would be a good book to buy if you want to enter into consulting or are looking to work for McKinsey. For others, however, the book does not break any new ground nor provides any brainstromy insights. Rather, it is full of nice business generalities and suggestions.

Phenomenal!
I have to say, that as a businessman, this book is incredible! I have reread it four times, and I live by what is inside. If you are thinking of going into consulting, this book is a must-have, but if you are a manager in any capacity you need to have this book in your collection. You can apply these principles to any business, and you should be. There is a reason these guys are the best in the business. Buy this book! Interesting insight, albeit a bit outdated
As an IBM consultant, it's nice to see what the competition has, even though it's a bit outdated. In terms of the culture that is painted in the book, I would say the two firms are really worlds apart, both in good ways. There is a lot of negative reviews about the book, however to me, it was enjoyable, taking in the lessons I can practice in my job and learning from history. I look forward to the other two books in the series. To me this is definitely not as good as Liker's Toyota Way, however, they discuss totally different things. However in terms of describing company culture, Liker is really in depth, I guess kinda like Toyota while Rasiel just scratches the surface, kinda like Mckinsey ;) (JK)

Basic Insights for Those Without Inside Access to Corporate (America)
The McKinsey Way is clearly dated, having been written in 1999, but it still offers useful fundamentals for readers early in their careers or those who have not had access to senior corporate leaders or insider networks. There are solid, practical nuggets--how to avoid research traps, the importance of clear communication and networking, and a realistic framing of company politics as people acting in their own interests. With that said, the insights remain largely surface-level, functioning more as conceptual checklists than deep, applied guidance.

Obsolete, Useless, Verbose: Story of a McKinsey Dropout
Quite useless, nothing really insightful here beyond a bunch of obsolete anecdotes from somebody who dropped out of the the McKinsey program and never made it far. Buy this only if you want to enrich the author.
