How long do they last?

How long they may last depends largely on where you plan to use them. If you decorate INDOORS with lights of this type, they conceivably can last 4, 5, even 10 years or more. This depends on howlong you turn them on when using. If however you are using them OUTDOORS, figure a SAFE life of 2 to 4 years. This is due primarily to weathering, from snow, raind, hot or cold conditions. The weather can and will hasten the corrosion potential of the delicate wires and sockets

Can these be used with the 21ft lights from the same company to get the right size? Also are the bulbs interchangeable with the bulbs on the shorter?

Yes, they just have different bulb spacing and total length of the light string to meeting the needs of different customers. The other parts are the same and can be interchanged and connected to each other.

A few of our bulbs cracked after winter and I’d like to replace those few instead of buying a new strand. Does anyone know if you can buy replacements

I'm surprised to read that some bulbs cracked during usage. You must have had some contrasting cold/hot issues for these bulbs to crack. Traditionally I only use outdoor lights a couple years before tossing them out. When subjected to cold, wet and ice, I find that the wires corrode and become dangerous to use. When a set I am using (and plan to use a couple years longer blows bulbs, I try to take replacement bulbs from sets I have cannibalized. The trick is to remove the bad bulb from its plastic casing while holding on to that casing. This is because every brand has a different socket tyoe, but the actual bulb is usually the same. Take a replacement bulb out of its own holder and place it into the holder of the broken bulbs socket. Bend the wires back, to hold the bulb in place and reinsert the replacement bulb. If you plan to use mini light sets, keep a supply of "replacement" bulbs in a food storage container or other type storage unit.

How long do they last

As long as you take care of them (no stepping on them while trying to display them or storing them in a container when you’re finished) - years. Roughly 4-6 I would say is safe. I would personally just wait and grab those $2.88 box from Walmart which last about 5-7 years and is exactly what they’re selling here.
