Spigen Liquid Air Designed for Google Pixel 6 Case (2021) - Matte Black

I had a Spigen case on my Pixel 3, it was the only case I ever had. Unfortunately I dropped the phone before the case came and the display cracked! It was a tiny crack though. With the case on, I had a few drops under 5 feet on hard surfaces and had no further damage, so I went with Spigen again when I upgraded to the Pixel 6. I prefer a slightly smaller phone but wanted to stick with Pixel, so I was hoping the case would not add to much bulk, and it doesn't. It's just right. The phone is smooth and slippery so a case seems mandatory. (Personally, I find phone cases a scam! Not sure why manufactures can't include a decent case that would cost them only a few bucks for a phone that costs hundreds to over $1000). Anyway, unless you need protection against high drops or frequent drops, this case seems adequate. The display and camera are raised slightly off the surface protecting them from scratches.

It's the perfect blend of small form factor, good grip, and good protection. I keep my phone in my back pocket. I've accidently dropped my phone many times, and have never had damage to the phone body. The screen, on the other hand, needs a screen protector. I've gone through 3 screen protectors over the last 2 years, and they have saved my screen from ever cracking. Finally, LCD display broke interiorly, spilling purple blotches inside the screen. But the phone case and the screen never cracked. I'm getting another case for my new phone.

Fits my Pixel 6 like a glove. I've used Spigen Liquid Air Armor phone protectors (in fact this same design) since my OG Pixel and would honestly never use another brand. I've dropped my phones from many different directions and has never let me down. This one is no exception. I feel like the one vulnerability is the camera bump, but even that is well protected. I appreciate how Spigen designs the frame bumper so that it sits up just high enough to protect but doesn't feel intrusive at all when using the phone. The texture and design of the case aids in gripping an otherwise slippery phone plus it's a nice subtle design. Great product for an outstanding price and I will continue to use these cases for all of my phones.

This is a nice minimalist case -- minimal protection, minimal bulk. Nice lips around the camera and the screen. No interference with Android 12's navigation. The texture on the sides is pretty grippy -- I like it a lot. I think all the pictures that Spigen provides are actually renders, not actual photos, because their images make the texture on the back look way more textured, deep cut and grippy than it is. I was worried about having to clean it often because of this, but in reality I wish it were a deeper texture for better grip, like the official photos show. I judge it to be less slippery than hard cases I've had, and not as grippy as plain silicone cases.

I previously had the Google-branded case, but it started to deteriorate after a year. It was a hybrid case, and the two types of plastic were coming apart, with one of them deforming. This Spigen case is all one type of plastic, so there's no danger of that. The case surface feels good in my hand, with a nice amount of grippiness. It's textured on the back and the left and right edges. The case extends a bit above the screen, so I don't have to worry about scratches if I place it face down. Likewise for the camera bar window. After several months, the case's appearance hasn't changed one bit. My one complaint is about the way the plastic juts out to a ridge above and below the camera bar. It's at a right angle to the back of the phone, which makes it catch a bit when I put it in my pocket or pull it out. It should be made with a 45-degree chamfer (transition "ramp") from the back to the ridge, so that it slides more easily without catching. (I've seen very few cases that have any transition, and most don't look very good in other respects.) I also think a chamfer would improve the appearance, making it look sleeker and better finished. There is already a chamfer from the case to the camera bar window. I hope someone from Spigen is listening for future cases! (Pixel 8, maybe?)

July, 2023 Update: In a surprising turn, I had an issue with my Hybrid Liquid Air clear case where the seam running the length of the back was. I contacted Spigen's Customer Service who, after a brief email exchange, readily replaced the case with a similar case. Can't say enough good things about the way I was treated by everyone I dealt with. Spigen's done nothing but further cement my respect for them and their products. Can't recommend Spigen products highly enough. Original review: This is at least my 4th Spigen phone cover. Every one of them has fit perfectly with buttons and fingerprint scanner cutouts *exactly* where they needed to be. Spigen offers superior protection against bumps and drops; I've never had an issue with breakage while using one of their covers. I now actively seek out Spigen when I get a new phone. Good value, fit and protection for your phone.

Fantastic case. The knurling on the sides and back makes it easy to grip the phone, it is not bulky, and has protected my phone through many falls, even down concrete stairs.

It does the job without any frills. Feels and looks like hard rubber. Easy to put on and fits the phone well. Textured back and sides reduce the chance of it slipping out of your hands, but not as easy to hold as softer silicone cases are. On the other hand, this case I think will last longer in my pocket than the softer cases have. Those quickly lose their shape and get loose around the phone, but I have a sense that this one will hold its shape for a long time.

Ne pouvant pas avoir d'avis sur les différentes coques avant la sortie du Google pixel 6, j' avais commandé 5 coques differentes dont 4 de marque spigen et 1 transparente noname. Hier, j'ai fait plusieurs essais sur le téléphone et c'est finalement celle là que j'ai gardée, elle épouse parfaitement le google pixel 6. La texture et le grip lui donne une bonne sensation en main et elle fait premium. Elle a l'air de bien protéger le téléphone. Ce qui m'a fait pencher pour elle, c'est surtout qu'il n'y a pas de traces de doigts contrairement à la transparente ou aux autres spigen grâce à sa texture en grip... ;-) La qualité est top. Après, c'est assez épais mais le téléphone fait déjà presque 9mm d'épaisseur sans compter le bandeau photo... Donc je recommande !

In terms of value I found this phone case is great for your money. It is a nice slim case that does not add too much bulk to the phone. The Google Pixel 6 is a slippery phone due to its glass back and with this case it helps combat the slipperiness. The case is nicely textured as it is not too rough nor too soft however, due to the design of the case this can result in small clutter easily getting into the triangular design of the case. The buttons (power and volume) are nice and clicky and are textured so you know which buttons are which. However, as the case is only shock-absorbent there is a slight lack in protection if the phone was dropped on a hard surface. Overall, this is good case which helps with adding that grip needed for the Google Pixel 6 and is very good for its value. Hope you found my review useful.

I've been dropping my phone quite a bit lately, so very timely that I write this review. The case is holding up very well and is doing a good job. I actually really like the finish. It has a very nice matte finish and is firm fitting. Very good fit, and does not add much bulk. To be honest, The Pixel 6 is terribly slippery and this case makes the phone much more enjoyable and easier to use.
