Panasonic KX-TG5651S 5.8 GHz FHSS GigaRange Digital Cordless Telephone

I bought this phone about 2 weeks for myself mainly because I was curious about the talking caller-id. It works well and pronounces the name accurately to my surprise. I then got one for my mother who loves it. She told my aunt about it, now she wants one. I guess I'll be buying another one for her. Initially I was concerned because the volume was low even though I had it turned up to the max. After a few days it started getting louder. Now it's loud and clear. The same thing is true for the phone I got for my mother. She like the handset because it's light and fits comfortably in her hands. This phone has great features and is easy to use and set up.

I wish I didn't get this phone. The battery will die in an hour and start beeping sooner. I hear it beep within 10 minutes into a call and I thought it was the other persons phone. Also, no matter what I do, and I read the instructions, it will not get louder.

Ordered from Chumbadeals for a Christmas present on 7 Dec when it was labeled as "in stock ships immediately." On 19 Dec. amazon.com let me know that the order had not even been confirmed by the vendor and that I should contact the company directly. I did. This was their reply:"Dear Valued Customer,Thank you for your order.Due to the volume of orders during this time of year, we are sold out of this item. We are unaware when this item will be in stock again. Therefore we have cancelled your order.We apologize for the inconvenience this has caused.Customer ServiceChumbadeals.com"If it wasn't for amazon's follow-through, I would not have known and I seriously doubt the vendor would have notified me. So kudos to amazon and a big thumbs down to Chumbadeals.

I bought this phone as a gift. The recipient likes the speaker feature on the handset and the booster capability.

Beware, per Panasonic's website, this is a ONE line phone. Still, I own several Panasonic cordless phones and they are quite simply THE BEST there is. After spending years with other brands, Panasonic definitely won me over and continues to do so.

I will return it. I cannot understand the speaking caller id.
