Based on the reviews I read, I was a little nervous that this rack would be only ok. I was pleasantly surprised at how well put together it is. I set it up on my 2021 Ford Ranger, and I get good adjustability with a 38” spread. I use it to haul 9’ whitewater kayaks, so I don’t need a full spread like some installs. It was missing a piece, and Thule provided it right away after I contacted them. I would expect that it wouldn’t hold up to regular off road driving, but only time will tell. So far the only thing I don’t like is the price. $800 seems a little steep for how simple it is. But hey it is well thought out and the parts are well made.

Got it installed this weekend & it is definitely good quality. Took me a few hours to get it done, but it's pretty easy. I'm just very methodical & always make sure I'm doing everything right. I decided on the Thule XSporter Pro because it's adjustable & also gives you the option to remove the rack when it's not going to be used for a while. I plan to use it for large fishing kayaks & camping trips when I'm towing a travel trailer. So, it won't be used all the time. When I have to load a 100+ lb fishing kayak, I'll be able to adjust the rear rack down, which will make it easier to load the kayak & slide it up on the rack. Still not easy, but "easier" nonetheless. FYI, I got mine from East Coast Jeeps here on Amazon. Shipping was extremely fast & I had no issues. Price was great as well. UPDATE: I used this rack for two very large fishing kayaks during a recent trip. It handled the kayaks very well. I am extremely satisfied with it for this type of use. However, the plastic pieces on the ends of the vertical supports are starting to break off. Also, the plastic cap on the bottoms of the mounts (the holes that the vertical supports go through) are breaking off as well. This is a major quality issue. I don't expect for the rest of them to last much longer. For the cost of this truck rack, this needs to be addressed by the manufacturer & their parts supplier. Either with more robust plastic or a composite material, or making these pieces out of aluminum. I trimmed one star from my review due to this issue. This is something that can easily be resolved through quality control & better engineering. UPDATE: Took it to Florida on a 7 day trip with kayaks on it. Still very sturdy & works well. Easy to adjust & that hasn't changed. Plastic pieces are still junk. The aluminum rack (the part that counts most) is very robust & is doing great. Along with the adjustment knobs. No issues there either.

This is a great looking rack and pretty sturdy. I'm a recreational user (kayaks, maybe a roof topper, bikes), but I'm also pretty handy and I'll load it up with wood or other long stuff. The racks feel solid enough for this type of use. I don't think I would consider this rack if I were a full time building contractor--I don't know if they would prove durable enough in the long run. The height adjustment is good and solid--but in my opinion Thule could have made the operation a little quicker and easier than the somewhat tedious loosening of four dials and re tightening. But it does lock into height place solidly, so I guess I shouldn't complain too much.

This was worth the price my husband broke his on a tree branch, so i bought him this one and it looks and feels like its a better quality one.

Good looking product and works for bike rack, cargo box and other sport related equipment like kayaks. Disappointed with plastic end caps that break too easy. Should be better quality, maybe aluminum. And would be nice to have a horizontal bar option to connect at the vertical legs of the two cross bars.

I wanted ladder racks for my Silverado but I didn’t want to get the huge over the cab ones because I knew inevitably i would load the hell out of them and my truck would turn into a work horse. I’m trying to keep a clean setup for now. I needed something that I could transport some 2x4’s and crown moulding or basetrim when I needed to. These things were simple to install and so far seam pretty sturdy. I love the adjustable tie downs. I think it’s the best feature of the racks and I Love how the black looks in my truck. The only thing I haven’t found out yet is if the local car wash will let me go through with these if I set them all the way down. Ive been doing the self wash.

Shipped from British Columbia to Thunder Bay. From time of order to completed installation... 48hrs!!! Amazing delivery, love the product! If I had to list a drawback it would be installation time. Takes about 2 hrs to set up properly.
