I Would Highly Suggest This Item...PERFECT!
The RØDE PSA1+ Professional Studio Arm has been an outstanding addition to my daily broadcast and voice-over workflow for weather forecasting and studio production. As someone who records voice tracks and delivers forecasts regularly, having stable, quiet, and highly adjustable microphone positioning is extremely important — and this studio arm performs exceptionally well in every category. The build quality is excellent and immediately feels professional-grade. The arm is incredibly stable, moves smoothly, and holds microphone positioning precisely without drifting or sagging over time. The spring damping system works beautifully and provides nearly silent operation during adjustments, which is critical in voice-over and recording environments where unwanted mechanical noise can easily be picked up by sensitive microphones. One of the strongest features is the cable management system. It keeps the setup clean, organized, and professional-looking while reducing cable interference during recording sessions. In a busy studio or weather production environment, maintaining a clutter-free workspace is a major advantage. The arm’s range of motion and adjustability are also excellent. It allows quick positioning changes for live broadcasts, voice-over recording, weather updates, and long studio sessions while maintaining very smooth movement and strong support for professional microphones. Another major advantage is the reduction in desk vibration and handling noise. The PSA1+ does an excellent job isolating the microphone and helping maintain clean, broadcast-quality audio during recording. This has made a noticeable difference in overall production quality for weather narration and studio reporting work. The overall design is sleek, durable, and clearly built for long-term professional use. Even with daily operation, the arm continues to perform flawlessly and feels engineered specifically for serious studio environments. Highly recommend the RØDE PSA1+ to broadcasters, meteorologists, podcasters, voice-over professionals, streamers, and studio production teams looking for professional microphone support with outstanding stability, quiet operation, and premium build quality. Exceptional performance and absolutely worth the investment for professional audio production.

Expensive, but absolutely worth it
I love this boom arm. It is extremely adjustable and versatile, pretty compact for what it does, moves smoothly, and stays exactly where I position it. The threading works in such a way that you can add tension where it is needed. The spring damping works well, so it does not make loud noises or fight against me every time I move the microphone. The built-in cable management also keeps the desk setup looking clean. I tried cheaper microphone arms first, but they felt flimsy, were harder to adjust, and would slowly sag out of position. Eventually, I decided to spend more on the RØDE PSA1+, and the difference in quality was immediately noticeable. It is definitely expensive for a microphone arm, but a quality item is a quality item. It feels solid, works perfectly with my setup, and I would rather buy this once than keep replacing cheaper alternatives.

Surprise!
If you told me that I could or should get excited about a friggin microphone arm, you would be crazy! I will caveat this, as this is my first of 1. I have a couple of cheap arms for other things, just not microphones. I DO, however, know quality when I see it. So, I bought the Rode XDM 100 microphone because I plan to start a podcast at some point. I reviewed reviews on about 40+ swing arms and kept arriving at this one, the Rode PSA1+. Let's get this out of the way first. It's one of the more expensive arms, but for the cost difference, the small amount to pay for the upgrade is worth it. The construction is made of high-quality materials. I like that the arm does NOT have a spring on it. Springs tend to make noise when you move them. Rode claims that it is "smooth and silent." I am here to tell you that it is. In addition to the above, I find the following important too: * I have to say that I love the way I can tighten the microphone in place with two opposing and easy-to-use nuts that are formed for your fingers to turn. The XDM 100 is a horse, so it's good to know that once I lock it into place, it will stay put. You don't have to be a powerlifter to crank it down. This brings up another point. * The microphone I have is pretty heavy. I am not sure of the weight. It is slightly lighter than the Rode NT1 5th gen I tried. The arm moved around in all directions, and held it up without fail. I believe it can handle more weight with no problem. * For cable management, four integrated snap-in clamps hold your USB or XLR cable in place, keeping them discrete. The rest is up to you. * The neoprene cover is nice because it dresses up the arm, which is built like any other. There are four bars connected to a pivot point. Two on top. Two on the bottom. It's kind of like a human arm in a sense because of the two bars on the top. Sure, it's a novelty to have the Røde logo on it, but honestly, it looks much nicer than the PSA1, which is basically the same thing without the cover. Okay, $30 for a stupid cover? A little pricey if you ask me, but I am glad I spent the extra $ for it. Shame on you, Røde! * The hardest part about installation was figuring out exactly where to place the base. After that, it only took as long as I needed to twist the screw-on clamp onto my desk and then put the post (at the bottom of the arm) into the hole. DONE. There is no need for instruction because it's just simple to figure out. I don't get super excited over much, but I am more than satisfied with the Røde PS1+. Maybe that's why it has a 4.8 rating over 1,169 customers as of today (6/11/2024)

RODE quality is worth the extra cost.
First bought the popular (and much cheaper) Chinese arm available on Amazon. That one was hard to adjust, hard to move out of the way (both to retract the arm and to swivel), and the microphone would not stay "tight". The RODE arm is SO MUCH BETTER. The RODE desk mount is sturdier and allows the arm to swivel easily without feeling "loose" and wobbly. The arm is very well balanced, so it extends and retracts with very little effort. The microphone locking system is perfect; easy to connect securely, but easy to remove if needed. Finally, the cable-management clips make it easy to keep the setup looking clean. Bonus, the RODE also comes with a bolt-thru desk mount if you do not like the clamp style. TLDR: Pay the extra money if you can afford it, you will be much happier with this product over cheaper options.

One of the most utilized products you’ll buy! Buy Quality!
The build quality, form and function of this boom arm is unmatched, I have now used it with multiple weighted mics on my live XSchmootsX streams on Youtube, TikTok, Twitch and KICK. For the Money you could buy two of the cheaper boom arms, but you’ll get just that, half the product. This arm has a fluid movement, silent, and build quality of a $200 boom arm.

Good mic arm, but mine needed a little fixing out of the box
A solid studio arm overall. It feels sturdy, holds my microphone well, and the built-in cable management helps keep the desk setup clean. One issue I had when I first got it was that it would squeak when moving the arm in certain ways. That was pretty disappointing for something in this price range. I sprayed a little silicone grease on the pivot points, and since then it has been fine. If the fix had not been so simple, I probably would have rated it much lower. Giving it 4 stars because it works well now, but I do think it should have been smooth and quiet right out of the box.

Perfect Studio Arm for Ultimate Recording Experience!
I recently purchased the RØDE PSA1+ Professional Studio Arm, and I couldn't be happier with my choice. This studio arm is an absolute game-changer for my recording setup. The build quality is top-notch, and it feels incredibly sturdy and durable. One of the standout features of the PSA1+ is its exceptional flexibility and ease of use. Adjusting the arm to find the perfect microphone position is a breeze, and once set, it stays firmly in place without any wobbling or sagging. This has significantly improved the quality of my recordings by allowing me to maintain consistent microphone positioning. The included cable management clips are a thoughtful addition that keeps my setup neat and organized. No more tangled cables or cluttered workspace! The compatibility with a wide range of microphones is another huge plus. Whether you're using a heavy broadcast microphone or a lightweight condenser mic, this arm can handle it with ease. Installation was hassle-free, and the arm comes with everything you need to get it up and running in minutes. The adjustable desk clamp securely attaches to my desk without leaving any marks or damage. In terms of aesthetics, the PSA1+ looks sleek and professional in my studio space. It's not only functional but also adds a touch of sophistication to my setup. If you're serious about recording, podcasting, streaming, or even video conferencing, the RØDE PSA1+ Professional Studio Arm is an investment that's absolutely worth it. The quality, flexibility, and ease of use make it a standout product in its category. I can confidently say that my recordings have never sounded better since I started using this studio arm. Very sturdy and high quality
Very good arm! It doesn’t squeak or make sound while moving it around. I can practically put my mic in ANY position and it just stays there like I froze it in time. I’ve even put quite a bit of weight on it and it stays in that one spot without fail! Best boom arm ever!

This is amazing value - PRO Setup!
I have been a RODE customer for years. And until now have used mic stands. But setting up my new studio space I needed to maximize floor space and stands just clutter up the place. I was looking for a boom arm for a while. And once I found the great reviews on the PSA1+ I was convinced. Honestly from the packaging which is first class, very protective and well thought out. To the effortless setup, which includes two attachment choices for you. 1 method is the clamp, which is a well thought out design, it has a broad and importantly FLAT connector between the two desk top piece and the under desk screw clamp. The broad flat connector means it can brace against the flat edge of your surface and stop any rotation or twisting of the mount. Method 2 a very cool looking 'in desk' solution. It requires drilling if you want to use this. But it is a very nice light gold anodized metal with cable management holes. I would have used this if I had the space on my studio desk. But I wanted it mounted right at the back of my top shelf as you see in my photos. So I can tuck the mic out of the way. I thought it might be too close to the edge to drill there. Once attached it is ROCK SOLID. With the microphone attached (my RODE mic) the arm is setup with a nice counterweight to it. Mic and arm moves as one piece and stays exactly where I put it. I did not have to adjust the tension at all, it worked right out of the box. Of course that might be more luck than anything else. But if needed both segments of the arm can have their tension increased or decreased. I looked at much cheaper alternatives and some really expensive ones above this price point. But this is the arm to choose. You won't be dissapointed.

Rock-solid boom arm that handles heavy mics with ease
Professional-grade stability for the Shure SM7DB setup I'm using the PSA1+ with a Shure SM7DB microphone, and this boom arm handles the weight and positioning demands flawlessly. As someone who's not a professional but takes audio quality seriously, this boom arm delivers exactly what I needed for my home studio setup. Build Quality & Stability: The construction is absolutely solid - no flex, no drift, no gradual sagging over time. Once you position the SM7DB where you want it, it stays there. The springs and joints are clearly engineered to handle heavier microphones without compromise. This feels like equipment that will last for years of regular use. Positioning & Adjustability: The range of motion is excellent, allowing me to position the microphone exactly where I need it for optimal vocal pickup. The joints move smoothly but lock firmly into position. No fighting with the arm during recording sessions or worrying about it slowly creeping out of position. Compatibility Note: One small quirk - the twist-locking nut design can create clearance issues with some XLR connectors. In my case, I needed to add a Shure A26X extension bar to get proper XLR connection clearance with the SM7DB. This isn't really a fault of the PSA1+, more of a compatibility consideration when using certain microphone and cable combinations. Value & Reliability: This boom arm justifies its price point completely. The difference between a quality boom arm like this and cheaper alternatives becomes obvious immediately - no constant readjustments, no worrying about your expensive microphone taking a fall, just reliable performance day after day. Desktop Integration: The desk clamp is robust and doesn't damage surfaces while providing rock-solid mounting. Takes up minimal desk real estate while offering maximum positioning flexibility. Bottom Line: If you're investing in quality microphones like the SM7DB, don't skimp on the boom arm. The PSA1+ provides the stability and reliability that professional-grade microphones deserve. Highly recommended for: Anyone using heavier microphones, home studio setups, and users who want "set it and forget it" reliability from their boom arm.
