Great little speaker setup for PC
We had one of those five speaker plus subwoofer setups on our main PC for years. It worked fine, but I found the number of speakers overkill, as I had no plans on mounting speakers for the full experience that I guess those with better hearing ability can enjoy (rather like wine, I would say...). Plus the speakers took up desk space and the wires added to the mess. I was rather happy one day when the old speakers went poof, so I searched for speakers, finally settling on these as a replacement. The price was right for the speakers, they were Logitech, a brand I generally trust, and not too big. I am not all that keen on subwoofers, finding the sound obnoxious, but the subwoofer in this set is a good complement to the satellite speakers, adding just the right amount of bass (and easily dialed down from the PC). The added plus was the addition of the wired, semi-remote control portion, which while cabled and adding to the wire mess, allow for easy volume adjustment right at the monitor level. The control also has a power switch at the control, which I assume helps with vampire power loss (have not tested the current draw, however), something that bothered me about the old speakers. In truth I hardly use the speakers, but the children use them, with the headphone port at the control adding to the value. They cannot get all that loud, but if if you want that I would say a computer is not the place for loud sounds. Recommended.

Great value, decent sound
OK, so I think Bose makes some fantastic computer speakers. But I didn't want to pay the Bose price. I needed speakers for my office PC (I have a Mac I use for video editing with great speakers, but I didn't need that for the Windows computer where I do all my office work). So I picked up the Logitech LS21 set. I use Logitech Marble Mice for all my computers and they've been flawless. I use a Logitech USB headset for Skype calls and it's built like a tank. When I received the LS21 speakers, I was very pleased at the quality of workmanship. Installation was a snap. The sound is just what I wanted and expected. The bass is decent, the high end is fine for what I'm using it for (which is mainly listening to the beeps of my accounting program and the occasional wacky youtube video some of my friends send me). No, it's not a Bose. But it's a fraction of the price. If you are looking for an audiophile system, this won't satisfy you. If you are looking for some basic speakers with acceptable bass and high end, it's fine. And the little remote control for volume, on/off and headphones is just right... not too basic, not too fancy.

Not bad for the money
I recently got a new computer so I wanted to get new speakers as well. I have another computer with a really good 2.1 speaker system, but if I remember correctly I spent about $75 on them. I didn't want to spend that much on this new computer since I mainly use it just to surf the web, watch YouTube and work from home. So I limited myself to $25. Here is my review: - Price: For $25 you will be hard pressed to find another 2.1 system at this quality - Sound (bass): To tell you the truth it sounded like crap when I first hooked it up. I was completely disappointed with the level of bass it had. I know it is a much smaller subwoofer than my $75 system, but I was hoping for more. However, I hook it up to my iPhone and it sounded better. This led me to believe that my computer settings were not optimized for these speakers. After about 10 minutes of tweaking the audio levels on the computer I ended up happy with the sound. Still not the greatest bass in the world, but pretty good for $25. - Sound (highs): I will admit that these little satellite speakers sound really good. Very crisp and clean. No complaints at all with the sound quality of the high level speakers. - Looks: When I first opened everything up, I liked the look and the quality of the speakers. I liked the black and silver design as it matched perfectly with my computer with the similar color scheme. They almost look like they were made for each other by the same manufacturer. The footprint of the subwoofer is very small and I am able to tuck it away under my desk in the far corner. The satellite speakers could be a little smaller but it fit well enough on my desk without taking up too much room. I do like the cable management the little speakers have. I hate having excess cables laying around. I usually zip tie them up so they are not all running loose. The speakers have an area in the back of them where you can roll up the excess wires. It is a nice touch. - Controls: I mainly picked up this system for the volume controls you can place just about anywhere on your desk. I hate having to open my audio controls on my computer just to turn up/down the volume. The controls have an easy to reach on/off switch as well as a simple up/down volume dial. Even has a head phone jack. I would have liked to have the bass controls on there as well, but for the most part I like it. - Conclusion: If you are looking for inexpensive speakers and not too much of an audiophile, then you should be happy with this system. Great for your basic computer/audio needs and maybe even some gaming. But if you are a bass-head and love the sound of room shaking bass, then this system is not for you.

So-So Speakers
The intention of my purchase of these speakers is to use at work. I wanted something that sounded better than the monitor speakers at a cheap price. The first speaker set I received was defective. The left speaker would not produce sound. I contacted Amazon and they quickly sent me a replacement set. The left speaker works but doesn't not produce the volume that the right speaker produces. I had to adjust the volume settings on the computer to create an equal volume between the two. I'm guessing that's just a flaw of the speakers. It's a little annoying but nothing enough to replace them again. The sub woofer produces a deep bass which is nice. I like the volume / headset module. It's nice to be able to plug my ear buds into the speakers, but not the actual speaker... and not the computer itself. The speakers are stylish. They're not big, bulky, or ugly. They blend in well to my desk and aren't a huge distraction. Overall, the product is good for the price. I wasn't expecting something extravagant and Amazon took care of me with the first set. If you're looking for a cheap pair of speakers with a sub woofer, these should do the trick.

Logitech LS 21 Computer Speakers
Not a bad speaker set, especially for the price. Certainly sounds considerably better than the speakers in my HP "multimedia" laptop. That said, clearly not an audiophile speaker system either. The bass is fairly rich (you can feel it), but definately doesn't extend into the deep bass regions. Same with the treble upwards. Regardless, the listening experience is very pleasant. Loudness greatly depends on the output of the computer's speaker or earphone jack. To get adequate loudness to truly jam to loud music while sitting in front of my laptop, every volume control in the operating system and media player is set to max (usually no distortion). A few feet away, the audio is similar to a moderately loud radio. In other words, the speakers are not sufficient for a noisy party (beyond simple background music), but just fine for a personal computer. The whole speaker setup is small enough to sit behind a laptop. The subwoofer box (tight pressboard) measures just under 8-inches tall, 6-inches wide, and 7-inches deep. It contains a 4-inch "high-excursion" subwoofer speaker in the ported enclosure. The satellite speakers (plastic) measure just under 6 inches tall, 3.5 inches wide, and 3.25 inches deep. Each contain a single 2-inch "high-excursion," apparently full-range, speaker. The satellite speakers (split wires) plug into the back of the subwoofer box using a single 1/8-inch (3.5mm) plug, while the subwoofer box, with bass volume control on back, has a standard power cord (no AC adapter) and a hardwired (not detachable) cord to the small control pod. The control pod, with tiny on/off switch, volume control, headphone jack, and green LED light (when turned on), also has a hardwired cord to the computer's 1/8-inch (3.5mm) speaker or earphone jack. Well, that's about it. Hope some of it was useful. Overall, I'm very satisfied with these speakers. In fact, doubt I could find a better sounding speaker system in this price range.

WOW! It started off great- all down hill from there.
(Original Post) After careful review, I decided to purchase this speaker set. I have been very pleased! The sub puts out an ample amount of bass and the sound is incredible. I got this set to go with my 17.3" HD + LED LCD laptop. I feel like I am at the movies when I turn on my speakers. It is a simple set up, no confusing wires. Just two simple plugs. What I love about this set is the volume control on the wire. Now, if the sound gets to be a bit loud, I can simply turn a knob instead of adjusting my computer. Highly recommended. *******************************************UPDATE******************************************* I originally gave this product a 5 star review. After having this speaker set for ~ 6 months, I am terribly disappointed. First off, one of the speakers stopped working out of the blue. I figured, well, it happens and did not make a big deal of it. The final straw was when the subwoofer started making a popping noise about every minute and a half. It was almost like clock work. It sounded like their was a person knocking (8-10) times from the inside of the tower. I was so upset. I tried looking at the cables, checking connectivity; I even tried checking my sound setting to make sure everything was set properly. Since this problem happened well after the warranty, I am pretty much screwed out of almost 30.00. I will never buy this set again. :(

Even for the low price, they're not that good compared to other cheap models
These USED to be my default cheap speakers that i would purchase for lots of random situations. I've since switched to the Logitech S120 speakers, which are less than the half the price of these and actually sound better. Reasons why i switched: - - The bass on these is terrible, even with the subwoofer on full blast. The S120s have pretty good bass for their size and price. - - Speaking of the subwoofer, often you may find it difficult to find a place to put the subwoofer for certain applications (like mounting these high up on a wall). The S120s are only two speakers, instead of 2 plus a subwoofer - far fewer pieces and wires to deal with. - - Speaking of mounting options, these speakers are angled in the back, and the bottom piece sticks out past the back of the speakers (see the product picture to understand what I mean), so mounting these flat on a wall is VERY difficult. The S120s are flat in the back, so mounting on a wall with something as simple as velcro is an easy task. The only advantage these have over the S120s is the extra piece with a headphone jack and volume control (though in my experience, i never really used the volume control, except for the speakers i used for my Xbox). The headphone jack is the reason I did keep two sets of these speakers (for my PC and my Xbox). I've replaced all of my other sets (treadmill, kitchen, laptop, cargo van, and two offices at work) with the S120s, though.

Great Speakers For My Netbook
I bought these speakers and they arrived at Oct 6, 2010. They were shipped perfectly and packaged perfectly. I opened the box and seen they were packaged well. I saw them and they medium sized. The sub woofer was a good size and the speakers were small which they were perfect for my net book, they were not too big of a size. One thing is that they should have made these in a dual power arrangement that would power from the A/C or USB power so you can use these with your net book. Since they were small, they were temporarily placed on my bed and they can be placed on a small table with the sub woofer on the floor. The sound quality is just fine for net book use, the sound quality is high definition quality, the bass is very good sounding, better than the small tiny net book speakers. I hope they come out with another model like this with USB power, still the A/C cord is good for when you at a desk. The volume control is perfect for net book use as well, very convenient where you need it while other speakers have the volume control on the speakers or the sub woofer. If you need a speaker system that is not too big or not too small for your net book this is the speaker system to get. Believe me the sub woofer is not too big and it can be placed on the desk or yes the floor for for bass response.

Perfect Product for a Condo Setting
I was looking for a set of speakers that were not too bulky, and loud enough for a 1-bedroom Condo. Found these speakers are crisp, clear and loud and perfect for watching videos online, to listen to something while cooking, etc within the Condo building! For the price, crispness and quality... an excellent buy if you live in a setting where neighbours could be disturbed with something too loud, and a great price to boot.

For the Price, it's ok.
The speakers are cheaply built. The sound is muddled. I was hoping it would be a good value if the sound was decent. From what others are saying, I took the plunge. But this time, I wasn't so lucky.

It is just okay, not too much sound
I purchased this thinking it is compact and will give sound as a 2.1 speaker. I got it for my dad, but he gave me unsatisfactory feedback, The sound was not high as expected, some times we feel it struggles to deliver the sound. For the price range of 1.3k, I must say it is okay. The item was delivered with little cracks on its body, and we noticed it only on the second day and due to the hassle of sending it back, we absorbed it!
