Hit & Miss (Jeter Publishing) Paperback – August 30, 2016

My son hates reading but loves baseball and he's a big fan of Jeter! So far this book has provided many of great nights of reading for him. I also got him a couple of the other ones offered. Thank you for this great book!

Growing up as a as a fan of DJ, and a overall fan of baseball. It is great to see he made a path outside of the sport and for children to follow. I purchased every installment in the series for my young child to read, and gain a multitude of perspectives from the sport of baseball that I love.

My beloved 7th grade Jeter fan, first-generation American, struggling reader, and aspiring NY Yankees shortstop walked up to me one morning in class after searching for books on Amazon.com:"I found a book I want," he announced."Great," I replied, as he has abandoned 5 or 6 so far. "What is it.""The Contact."I furrowed my brow and looked over his shoulder at the Amazon.com page up on a computer screen across the room. He motioned for me to come to the computer, as he is a child of soft voice and few words. We walked over. "Ohhhh, 'The ConTRACT,' " I said. "Ok."He DEVOURED it in a week. I ordered Hit & Miss right away. He devoured that. Now we are waiting until April for the next book in the series, but I may have to ghostwrite a "mid-series" book to keep this child's reading momentum going. I will DEFINITELY have to ghostwrite a book *spoiler alert* if in the next book Jeter's childhood team doesn't win a championship.

This was a gift for our 12 year old grandson. I read it first and appreciated the lessons taught! Our grandson has read two of Derek Jeter's books now and has commented both times as to how much he enjoys the story and what he's learned. Well done.

My son cost like chose 4 stars. I think he likes the baseball parts and less the issues and challenges Derek faces. As for me, I trust that the positive messaging wrapped in story will have an impact on him.

A baseball book with a life lesson.

my 11 year old son hates to read. i purchased the three books available in this series because other reviews said it was a good choice for reluctant readers. he has been begging for more books in the series and loves them. his teacher even emailed to say he was so involved in the book, he didn't realize class had started. there is also not so subtle brainwashing that i have attempted to do as a parent (support your sister, treat your teachers and parents with respect, take pride in your work) that he has started to talk about. highly recommended as a book for young boys and as a book to read with kids and discuss the story.

A great book for your baseball kid to enjoy and learn from. How Jeter weaves his life and life lessons into this is spectacular. The 2 other books of this series are great books for more crucial lessons.
