1978 mirror closet door track had a divot that caused the door to stick and thump. I could not find a replacement track so I gave the snap on cover a try. It dropped right over the old track which is slightly smaller and now the door runs like new! I was worried that the guide wheels would be too small for the 1/4 track but that does not seem to be a problem. The track cover may not fit completely into the guide wheels, but the heavy door stays on the track and rides well on the edges of the metal guide wheels. I'm pleased to find such a a simple fix.

The media could not be loaded. My house is equipped with an ancient sliding door, original to the house from the 1960s. It has never operated smoothly in the 10 years we have lived here, but I thought it would be impossible to repair the door with it’s old sliding track.Finally discovered this rail cap and was able to source new rollers. Installation was a bit tricky, it is a very tight fit, obviously, but with a rubber mallet and a block of 2x4 It went in.With the rail cap and the new rollers the door operates smoothly again, as if it's a brand new door.Lots of reviews mention it showing up damaged/bent, but i think the shipper must have solved that, it arrived via USPS in a very heavy walled cardboard tube in perfect condition.Highly recommended, don’t put off repairing your door!

Perfect fit to ease sliding patio door opening/closing

The formed steel track goes down over the worm track ( nothing to remove). I held the open side of the "U" shape over the worn aluminum using a wood block and hammered it down moving along the length a little at a time. The only problem with the ordering was the track was bent and kinked in shipping. Read the reviews. Many purchasers had the same problem. I was fortunate to be able to hammer out the track before installation. I had a note from the USPS hub stating the item was found "separate" and was repacked by USPS. I don't believe the seller cares if it is received in good condition or not.

Waited forever to receive damaged item ...never buy again...buy locally next time I need door parts...waste of time

Used to cover a worn track on a sliding door. Liked that is was fairly easy to install. Might have been better if there were instructions. I had to go to you tube and look at another Manufacturer’s product. That installation recommended the use of silicone to fill in any gaps between the track and the cover to get a tight fit. Couldn’t give it a 5 rating since it was installed only a week ago. Need to see how long it will last.

I hesitated when I saw the review saying that the product was deformed during shipping, but when I received the product, I found that its packaging was very sturdy and the product was intact, so I guess the seller has improved their packaging. I am satisfied with this product in packaging and comparative price.
