I have tried many scales to use for dietary portioning, this is the first one that has everything in one unit. You can place any size of plate, bowl, pan on it, tare it put something in it and still easily see the display. It has several options for auto off and measurements speed I am using the always on, it just stays on until I switch it off. It does a self check for a couple of seconds when turned on but after that, it reads immediately when you add anything. There is no lag or delay like with some others I have. It has an adapter included so you can just plug it in and not need to worry about battery life or how long you have it on. I can only estimate the accuracy, but based on known portion sizes, it seems very accurate, and always repeatable if you remove something and put it back on the scale. It is backlit as well so easy to see whatever the lighting conditions. The top is removable for cleaning and it includes a cover for the keypad if you need that for some applications. It is a mix of metal and plastic but looks pretty well made and so far has been durable. Be sure to look at the small manual, there are several user selectable options that can better tailor it to your needs.

Ingredients for many breads especially my sor dough must be measured by weight. This is tge perfect size, measures in kg, g, lbs, and oz.. Nice shield over the screen keeps it clean. Plug it in or add batteries.

This is a great scale for both soap and candle making. My only complaint is that the instructions say you need to calibrate this scale with a 5kg (11 pounds) weight. I searched on Amazon for this 5kg weight, and it was over $40.00. So, just beware that for your scale to be calibrated correctly, you need to purchase this additional weight. I took a star away for the added $40.00 expense of the weight to calibrate it.

I was so tired of messing with and cleaning all those measuring cups and spoons, that I decided to be like the rest of the world and go metric in the kitchen. Before I decided to buy this particular scale, I had been on the Amazon website for at least two hours reading reviews of different brands of kitchen scales. When I got to this one and saw that all the reviews were glowing, and had not one negative review, I decided on this one. And everybody was definitely spot on. This scale is easy to use, very accurate and easy to clean. I would recommend this product in a heartbeat. I am now in the process of changing all my recipes to metric, and from now on will search for recipes only on metric websites. The rest of the American cooks that haven’t yet gone metric in the kitchen just can’t see how much easier the metric method is when cooking. But this product is so nice that if there was the option, I would give it 10 stars. It has an adapter or can run on batteries, either one. What a great product!

Using this in the kitchen. It's precise and well built. Very easy to use. If you're going to bake, measuring your ingredients is the only way to go. This is perfect for that task.

I love this thing. I have a smaller scale, but this thing does a lot more, in that it has more options. I'm not the sharpest tool in the shed, so I was a bit concerned that I might have issues trying to figure it out. Nope. It comes with great instructions and it's not difficult to figure out, at all.Also, I like having the choice of using batteries or plugging it into the wall. I like being able to see the numbers when the item on top exceeds the top of the scale. I like the cover on the scale. I like that it's not heavy. I just really, really, like this thing, a lot. I primarily, use ounces and pounds for weight. I use the Tare mode, too.

This scale is fabulous for precision measurements. I highly recommend this as being worth the cost and great value.
