No self adhesive... Two way tape ,,or staple..3/8".They do come with instal suggestions.Hope that helps

Q: Does this soundproof a room, even alittle bit?

I don't think it helps much to soundproof a room. However, it does help to tame some of the high frequencies so the sound is less bright inside the room.

Q: Is this open cell or closed cell foam?

Open cell more like foam rubber, it's the shape that makes it a sound proof foam.
