Air King 9723 20-Inch 3-Speed Box Fan , White

I bought this to replace a less expensive window fan that lasted maybe a year and I couldn't be happier. I was looking for something made in the USA, which this is, and I love it. It's not quiet, but it's not loud for the wrong reasons either. It's louder than many fans simply because air in motion makes a sound and this thing moves a lot of air. There are no mechanical noises. The motor is quiet, the fan blades are balanced, and the bearings are silent. Any sound is simply a reflection of it's superior ability to move air. It's built well. The frame is metal which I am a huge fan of, pun intended. I was hesitant at first due to the price. After all, I could have gotten 2 cheap knockoffs for the same price, but I've done that enough times to know better. I'm tired of having to replace junk products every year or 2. I'd rather buy a good product once and have it last. I couldn't be more pleased.

This is a commercial fan, as stated on the Air King website. It is sturdily built, metal frame with plastic fan parts and vents. It is loud, it moves A LOT of air even on low. We use it to provide a breeze on a screened-in back porch during the heat of the day and have never used a setting above low. It is great.

Built like the box fans from the ’90s — loud, proud, and moves serious air. No frills, no weak plastic. This is the kind of thing that actually cools a room. Works very well and has extremely high speed levels almost like a factory fan. Used it to build a corsi rosenthall box and definitely does the job.

Reviews say powerful. Yes it is. But.. feels well made and good product info. Only three speeds and low feels like medium. Wish it had four speeds. Low is loud but it's a soft loud if that makes any sense.Seems Better Built than other brands. Hope it lasts long time.

Great fan. I like that it has a grounding plug. Moves a lot of air and white noise is perfect for sleeping. Well worth it!

Update: I reached out to an Amazon rep. through their "Contact Us" chat and the rep has sent me a new fan to replace the one that broke. Thank you, Amazon! :)Original Review:I feel completely taken in! I thought that paying more for a box fan would get me a higher quality, heavier duty, longer lasting fan. I highly doubt it.The cord isn't 8 feet long and heavy-duty. The fan is no heavier than any other, less expensive box fan I've seen in the stores.As other reviewers have said, they ship it with the cord/plug threaded through the handle TWICE and it is nearly impossible to get it out without breaking the cheap handle off. In fact, the handle DID snap off on one side when I tugged the plug through. The plug doesn't fit under the handle, so they must have put it there during assembly.You must get the plug squeezed under the handle not once, but twice, in order to be able to plug it in. I cannot stress enough how difficult this is to do without getting a screwdriver and taking the fan apart, or breaking the fan trying to get a large plug through a smaller space under the handle, TWICE.I ordered two of these fans. I was so ticked off when the first one broke and then I opened the box for the second fan and was faced with the same situation. I had to take the fan apart, remove the cover on one side, to be able to access the snaps for the handle, in order to get the handle off so I could safely remove the cord/plug.See pictures for the fan I strained to get the plug free from the handle on.Ridiculous!Whose bright idea for building these fans was this? After all the reviewers talking about this, I feel a fool for still purchasing these. :(I will be returning the fan that broke for a refund and replacing it with a less expensive fan.I am so frustrated and pissed off.Buyer beware!

Not sure if models have changed or if item has changed I have ordered this fan the air king a few times only one we have in the home, currently the 4th one. 3 out or 4 have been exceptional for noise and coolness noise being the main reason for purchase as we love/use it for sleep in the home as I opened this new one looked slightly different then the others then went to plug in and to test it out since we know after time older fans can take a beating I was disappointed when turning on and putting on 3 doesn't seem very loud at all :( my older one definitely seems louder and that one I've had for some time also did get on sale which normally I haven't seen this particular item on sale before that I've noticed and now just looking again it has been reduced again in price since I purchased mine is this not a real air king? Sad repeat customer

It’s loud!!! Exactly what I wanted, even on low it’s loud, so if I start hearing snoring during the night there’s two more speeds . I was afraid it would be too quiet 🤫 but after turning it on I was so excited.
