Good book. However, I am not happy with the quality of the book cover.

The book was in excellent condition. Jordan is an exceptionally gifted writer and it is evident from the book!

I read the book back in 2005 & re-read this again this year. Plot starts to slow down a little but this is still a great story. The plot threads surrounding Nynaeve & the women was mostly boring with their usual travelling stuff. Perrin is absent from this book & you won't miss him because although his character started to shine in the previous book, he still has to prove himself as a standalone character. The storyline & events surrounding the Rand & Mat are awesome & I wish they could stick together more the later books. The climax is jolting esp the last few chapters which change Rand's perspective towards everyone & makes him more suspicious. If you're already into this series now then there's no stopping. Just keep on going.

it is not the most fast-paced, but it never gets boring. It proceeds at a speed the reader is quite acclimatized to by the time he/she reaches this point. One of the main characters barely appears at all (at least until where I've read so far, almost halfway through) and his presence is missed. some of the characters' personalities and interactions get grating and repetitive at times, but the multiple POVs keep the narrative fresh enough to keep going. I am starting to notice a worrying pattern in these books though - several hundreds of pages of almost-boring tedium build up to a spectacular event at the end that is fleeting and hard to visualize. However, I still admire the scale and detail of the Jordan's fictional world, and I am curious to see where the story goes.
