As good as I remember from reading it as a boy
I read this as a boy and - though I've since read the real thing and seen the wonderful Broadway adaptation - I've had a good time reading it again with my grandson and some other younger children. It captures the essence of the story very well and, as best I can remember, the quality of this printing is as good or maybe even better than the originals that I read so long ago.

Very Nice Edition
Wanted a good summary of this book. It's very nicely done.

A very brief review of Classics Illustated "Les Miserables."
Good editing, excellent graphics, a good, brief biography of Hugo, and informative themes and timeline review.

Present for a young anarchist
I remember Classic Comics when I was young. A young man I know couldn't believe there was a classic of Les Miserables -- so it was fun to get this for him.

Three Stars
This is a graphic novel type book. My son don't care for it so much.

I collected these when I was a kid. These are perfect reproductions of the originals. I have bought them all and give them to the grandchildren. We love 'em!

You could read a Wiki appraisal of Les Mis to find out what it's about or pick up this graphic novel - though this was written in the day when they were called comics. Not read the book so can't say how accurate it is but it does conjur up a grim, dark feel. Obviously it's not as vibrant as the Ivanhoe or Robin Hood stuff, but then neither is the book; the artist is fulfilling his or her brief.

A good little book. I didn't realise that it wasn't the full Victor Hugo book, but a shortened version. Neverthe less, it made a good, if brief, read.
