I had to return because it did not fit my 2005 Polaris Sportsman 500 HO.

This was a form fit function replacement for a 1994 400L Sport 2-stroke. It bolts to the side of the ATV battery shelf. Odd thing was the SMU6004 only had a single nut and some washers on each copper terminal screw/stud that normally would have two nuts. When you removed the single nut, the terminal wobbled... That is - two nuts are normally used - one nut to hold the terminal screw firmly in place on the solenoid body case, and a second nut used to secure the battery and starter motor power cables from the ATV, to the starter solenoid.

This starter solenoid is perfect for my 2002 Polaris magnum 325. Before I bought this, I ordered one from another company and it worked ok, then crapped out on me. I got a replacement from the other company and it worked ok until the solenoid hung up and kept the starter engaged. I found this one and installed it. This starter solenoid is perfect and works great. I would highly recommend.

Not bad for the buck

Instructions a little hard to follow as not all wires/connections are exactly alike. Took several tries till I got it right.

This was a perfect fit for my 2004 and 1/2 Polaris Sportsman 500 HO. All wire hook-ups were the same and fit perfectly. Sportsman started right up and starter motor shut down after engine started just like it was suppose to.

This gave me something I didn’t have for a long time; the ability to turn on my sportsman 600 by key. It would only turn on by touching the two bolts with a piece of metal. This new one works perfectly.

it fits a polaris quad and with minor adjustments to the mounting location i was able to fit all the connections on , any person with some minor skills will be able to use this product for its intended purpopse.

Fit perfectly, along with the new starter and bendix.
