This scale takes a weight of my shoulders…
I received this item free as an Amazon Vine reviewer and this is my honest review. I only request items I will actually use, and use I do, prior to writing a review. As a regular course of business, I buy large quantities of silver and gold. I have smaller jewelry scales for weighing up rings, necklaces and such. And I have a very big counting scale for when that coffee can full of silver quarters comes in. But the small scale is too small to weigh over 10 troy ounces and the big scale is a pain to lug around anytime we need to check bigger weights. And since we do all the weighing, when we buy, right in front of the customer I needed a scale that fell between my two existing ones. It needs to weigh up to 100 Ozt bars and be small enough to easily move around.Wow does this Forelibra 5000 Gram scale deliver. Out of the box I was impressed with the build quality. The body is heavy ABS, not cheap thin plastic, and the tray support arm is heavy cast metal (pictured). It has four rubber pads and with how it is designed you could use a larger tray or pan with a tall lip if you were weighing up smaller, loose items. The scale comes with a well-made stainless-steel tray (pictured). This tray fits on and over the support arms and is very secure once placed or can be used upside down giving it a small ¼” lip to contain items, powders or such. But can also be easily lifted off for cleaning or use of a different “tray” or pan, like mentioned before. I really like this design feature. The next bonus is a supplied rechargeable battery (that is also removable should it ever require replacement). You can run this scale off the battery or off AC with the supplied power supply (which is also used to charge the battery). So this scale is totally wireless. I have used this on and off over the past 3 or so weeks and still have half of the battery life as displayed on the battery indicator (another nice feature). One powered the scale goes though a short start-up sequence and is ready to use. I love this display. It is a nice blue backlit LCD with huge, and I mean you can see it from across the room, numbers on it. There is no mistaking a 6 for an 8 or misreading the decimal place. The display is also at a comfortable angel allowing for easy reading, with the control buttons located below. To the left of the display is a bubble level. You can use the four large feet, that screw in and out for height adjustment, to perfectly level this scale if needed. This scale also comes with a 1000 gram calibration weight, I like this as other scaled I have purchased in the past tell you how to calibrate but do not provide a weight. Out of the box, once charged, I turned it on and placed the 1000g weight on it just to see how well it was calibrated from the factory. It read 0.91g over (pictured) which is pretty darn close in my book. But I went ahead and recalibrated it, which is a simple press of the “Cal” button and use of the supplied weight. Once recalibrated I placed a 100 Ozt silver bar on the scale (pictured). After the calibration it is well within the .01 gram precision claimed by the manufacturer. This scale does have other features like a RS232 port for data export as well as counting and weight percentage functions too.As I do at the end of all my reviews, I ask myself if I would actually purchase this item. Yes, I would definitely buy this scale. I consider this a great value for the money and will continue to use it on a regular basis.

Thought it would be more accurate
The scale is calibrated at two points, 0g and 1000g but add anything else to the plate, add the 1000g weight and you will see 0.5g difference vs the individually weighed objects. Not terrible but for a scale with "0.01g accuracy" that 500% error. Additionally the arms that support the plate arrived bent, perhaps my unit was damaged in some way. The reliability of the 1000g calibration weight reading 1.00kg makes me wonder if the scale has some sort of bias twards1kg so that you trust the accuracy more than you should.

Table Top Decor
I had to return this scale. It is not reliable. First the numbers never stabilized, they constantly jump around. Then if I tap my spatula against my beaker or bowl the number on the scale goes up. I know what you’re thinking, but I tested it with a clean spatula and the weight still increased! It gets worse! So I decided to make bath bombs, and I’m very careful not to tap the bowl. However the scale is like I’m still going to ruin your day, and puts it evil plan in motion. I setup and place my bowl on the scale then place my sieve on the bowl. I start measuring my ingredients and the numbers start jump around a bit but I work with it. When I get to my last ingredient the scale starts to SUBTRACT! Scale 2 Person 0 (refund please)

GM5002 Scale
This is a nice countertop scale. The range is .01g to 5000g (11 U.S. pounds). The photo in the ad depicts 3 calibration weights, but if you read what is included, you’ll find that only 1 weight is provided (a testament to ‘read the fine print’) which is 1kg (1000g, or 2.2 pounds). The standard of practice is to use a calibration weight that is similar in mass to the item(s) being weighed, so this scale would be best for “heavier” tests unless you have additional, lighter test weights. Personally, I use a much smaller scale to measure items of 1 ounce or less. As long as you allow for the recommended 20+ minute warm-up period, the scale repeats nicely. The scale uses about one square foot of counter space, is provided with a wall plug for constant power, has a removable tray that can be inverted so that you have a shallow pan should you need containment, a bubble level and adjustable feet. The Tare function allows you to place any container on the scale, press the Tare to zero the scale and then add your items for weighing.FLB FORELIBRA has more precise scales (.001 vs. .01) that cost less, so consider your application while you decide on which scale suits your needs. But, for items exceeding 1oz, I think this is a nice scale.NOTE: The listing does not mention anything about a battery, but another review indicated the scale came with a rechargeable / replaceable battery. My scale, model GM5002, did not. The compartment is there, but there is no battery or wiring. I wrote the seller who said, and I quote, "because we sent to USA can not equip the battery, so the scale has no battery inside. it can use adapter power to connect the scale. But you can find the battery in your industrial market, it use 7.4 V battery. it is easy to equip battery." Ok, the listing does not say a battery is included so I won’t hold that against the seller.

Very accurate
I love the scale and so happy it came with a weight. Has a nice little storage area for the wall cable in the bottom of the device for storage. Very pleased.

Superior scale!
The media could not be loaded. Very impressed with this scale! Very large surface protected in stainless, adjustable feet to level, and can both be plugged or work with battery. Turns on pretty quick and calibrates and there are more units of measure than i thought existed! Pretty high end and seems durable!
