Works great, easy to program
I'd lost the original remote to the fan, this replacement is identical to the one that came with. You have to program the remote to "hear" the fan; after inserting the battery, there are four little switches inside. Since the fan was already installed and I couldn't see the settings on the transmitter, I had to try different combinations of the switches to hit on the same settings (16 different possible combinations). It took me about 3-4 minutes of experimenting to find the right one, and now it works perfectly! Comes with a little holster with screw holes in it; however, I used the sticky part of a 3M Command wall hook (double-sided removable tape) to stick it to the wall - it's very lightweight, even with the battery, and it is working just fine!

I bought this to replace the remote for a Regency brand fan and it works great. The only difference is that this one doesn't have a forward/reverse button like my original did. Luckily, that button was still working on the old remote (which I've kept for the 2 times a year I need that button).I was concerned that this wasn't going to work because the description said it was for Harbor Breeze fans. I took the chance because my fans also have 4 switches on the remote and receiver and so does this. Worked great and now I have a remote that works and isn't covered in paint drips.

Replaced a broken remote. Just had to match the switches on the original remote. Only wish is if these type of remotes had a more positive click when pressing the buttons; sometimes I'm unsure as to whether or not I've pressed hard enough for it to register.

Works perfectly!
Replacement for my 14-year old Hampton Bay celing fan. Very well packaged/professionally, works perfectly! I have only one light on the fan & the button works perfectly too. Easy to set the code, took seconds to install battery. Well priced. I highly recommend & would purchase again!

One of the lights it synced to just fine but the other one it would not
I got this as a replacement for an old light controller in my house. One of the lights it synced to just fine but the other one it would not. The controller in the light that this controller would not sync to was older and that may have something to do with the difficulties I had with it. It is working fine with the light and it allows me to control my fan and lights from almost anywhere in the house.

More range than the original
This was a replacement for our original controller that magically disappeared over the holidays. It was easy to set up and works great. It even seems to have more range than the one we lost. I'm totally satisfied.

This is what you need!
This remote is identical to the original. Home Depot sells these for about $25 more.Real easy to "program "if that's what you want to call it. Just look in the back of your old one and match the positions of the four switches and your in business

OK remote, but it DOES work
It works!I suppose it does what it was designed to do: it connects to my Monte Carlo fan (after adjusting the jumper switches to the right frequency) and it operates the blades and the single light. There are two light buttons which are meant to be for fans with two sets of lightbulbs (upper and lower), they are not meant to be for intensity (dimming) settings. However, on my fan, both buttons function on the one light. Also, if you leave the button pressed the intensity of the light will go up and down, but this is a feature of my fan and not the remote. I am just happy that it works like in the original Monte Carlo one.I have an issue with the workmanship, the controller is cheaply made. Why is the casing so large?! The electronics inside are so small that the whole unit could be half the size. Why a 9V battery? It does not need that much voltage, and it makes replacing the battery cumbersome and expensive. I thought I could use one of the many other batteries I already have at home. The buttons feel flimsy and would not survive a 5-year old's hands (good thing I'm the only one using it).All in all, it is a good purchase and the price is right. An OEM replacement will cost me about $40.Just a side note and probably unrelated, the fan in a different room (also operated remotely) had the light on and spinning at top speed without us touching it. I suspect there was some interference from this remote when I was setting it up.
