Pretty impressed
A little better than my 10 year old Sena. The sound quality is 50% better. I didn't really think I would use the voice commands, but now that is just about all I use. If I had a complaint it would be having to go through the pairing process, every time I wanted to connect to other riders still using the Sena systems (SMH10R). I was told it wouldn't work at all, but it connects right up and works well. The problem is, once the connection is broken, by powering off or getting out of range, I have to go through the pairing process again. Maybe my riding partners will eventually switch over.

Works Great
Ordered the Freecom 4X duo for my family weekend rides. Checking them out after delivery, we found 1 speaker did not make any sound unless you bent the wire on the speaker pigtail at the plug. Contacted Cardo support and after further testing by plugging the speakers into my phone, it was deemed that the speakers needed replacing under the warranty. It only took a few hours to get to this point and we are waiting for the replacement speakers. I will try to complete this review once we have received the replacement and took them out for a ride. Replacement was received in a timely manner. After using these on a few rides, we are pleased with them. The audio sounds better with ear plugs for some strange reason.

Great tool, easy hookup.
great tool! Lasts upwards of 7 hours of continued use as a music player at medium-volume (between 8 and 11 volume through my phone's player.) It connects to the phone quickly, and is exceptionally clear when taking calls. Though i haven't had a chance to try the microphone for calls. It also doesn't have any issue hearing my commands when using the cardo voice commands to switch songs or raise/lower volume. It does struggle a little bit with making calls though, but i'm going to chalk that up to my own error.

Great device, sounds great, looks great.
I love this product. I used to do the airpods under the helmet and it was a pain in the ass every time I took the helmet off. Sound quality is nice, only thing is that the treble can get pretty high when turning the volume up, I would recommend wearing earplugs while wearing your helmet. Installation was pretty easy, took me maybe about 15 minutes without instructions; pretty easy if you use common sense. The speakers fit perfectly in my Shoei RF-Sr, as they have cut outs that perfectly fit the 40mm JBL speakers. It's also pretty comfortable so long as the wiring is done properly. My phone connects to the headset upon start up every time and there haven't been any hiccups with connectivity. The quality of the device itself is nice too; the latch that hooks onto the lip of the helmet is thick and sturdy, the actual device that powers everything is sturdy and stays on the connecting piece really well so I never have to worry about it falling off while riding. There's also the mesh tech for when you're riding in a group, but I haven't been able to use that. The only complaint I have about it is when using "hey, siri", i have to say it a couple of times. It might be me having to use my big boy voice or it might be the placement of the mic inside the helmet. Either way, it's still a great and convenient piece of tech to own if you're a daily rider.

The cheaper spirit HD works way better and is louder!!
I own a spear HD it’s crazy. It’s way cheaper and the sound is so much better. This is not the same. I don’t care what they say about the upgrade the JBL speakers the spirit HD booms a lot better than these. It was the first time I took it out on my new helmet and now I want to return this and get a spirit HD the only problem is I put the sticky amount on my brand new helmet so now that’s gonna be a pain in the butt to get it off. Even the scrolling thing wearing gloves does not work well don’t even get me started on the voice commands that did not do anything when I said change music change volume did not do anything. I believe you have to say hey cardo first which I did. It’s weird because it worked in my house once I was on the bike did not respond to me at all. I want to return this get some of my money back and n by a spirit HD, which I already own. About 3 weeks later still using freecom 4x and still not satisfied def returning and getting the cheaper cardo spirit hd dont waste ur hard earned money buying this hunk of junk. Hands free sucks I say turn up the music and it turns on radio and half the time the hands free does not work at all. It’s just not worth it.

Eh. Nice but still deciding if they're worth the money
Id rate these 2.75 they work great when they connect and stay connected. We've had more issues then we've had positive experience. The sound quality in the jbl speakers are sweet and you can hear just fine over straight piped bikes. The wind canceling is awesome running 75 taking on the phone and the other person cant tell you're on your bike. Just the connect ability and the Bluetooth to mesh connection isn't very good.

ARRIVED (not a rock in a box, phew!)
So far the Cardo Freecom 4X sounds great and was relatively easy to install (with guidance from a YouTube video). It arrived two days early, which is nice, but also no notice of this. Honestly as a first time Amazon purchaser.. And from another country too, I was just glad it was an actual cardo in the box. Have yet to try the “Hey Cardo” feature, but I’m hopeful as everything else seems to be in order.
