Pinpoint accuracy, speed, and simplicity all in one!
This is a great little tool - very helpful for setting up cuts at depth on a table saw or router such as dados and grooves. This tool helped me get the table saw blade set perfect every time. I had used setup blocks before and they are nice, but there's no freedom - if you don't have the size block that corresponds to the cut you want to make, it won't work. You can set this to any height or depth you want, and that is very convenient. This also works very good with a router. I cut several rabbets and grooves using this tool and knew I had the depth set perfect. If you do any work that requires depth/height setup, I would highly recommend this tool!

no more rounding measurements!
no more rounding measurements! Also great when line of sight is skewed or obscured

Great addition to my workshop. Worth the money.
This item saves a lot time and helps prevent errors in my workshop. Whether it's setting the blade height on my table saw or the bit on my router table, this makes very precise measurements very quick and repeatable without the need for fancy jigs and templates or dedicated (and expensive) measurement bars (like the Kreg router gauges). A few areas that I'd like to see improved, which together were worth one star: 1. The "zero" button is combined with the power button. It takes a bit practice (and patience) to get the gauge zeroed before we use. You'll end up turning off and on and/or and holding button with nothing happening a few times before getting the correct timing. 2. It doesn't start at zero again, even when starting on the same surface. You have to zero it every time because it'll won't be at zero when you turn it back on. This is a minor annoyance when combined with #1. 3. The depth gauge isn't magnetic. If you go up passed your desired height, you must remember to push the gauge down as the item your measuring (i.e., saw blade) goes down. If the bottom of the gauge were magnetic, the gauge would be pulled down as the item goes back down. None of this are major issues, just potential enhancements or annoyances you'll need to be aware of.

Very easy to use.
This Digital Height Gauge is a breeze to use. The display could be a bit larger, but that's not an issue with it. It's my poor vision at fault. It does make setups a lot easier for me. Good Quality.

Stop guessing and get it right the first time.
This is a Jim Dandy little tool for precise settings of how deep your table saw is going to cut. It is very easy to use and eliminates the guess factor completely. I use it now every time I cut a dado with my table saw and I get precise depths. It can be used on your router table as well to get your cut depth and distance from your fence. It also can be used to measure the depth of drilled holes 1/4" and larger, using the included attachment. All in all, it is a sweet little addition to my precision tools at a very affordable price. I am happy with my purchase and I bet you will be also. Battery included !

Not bad, but not much better than a good steel ruler
I like digital displays because they seem so sure and confident. I tend to futz around on my setups and I would like to do them faster. I purchased this in hopes of increasing both speed and accuracy of my setups. I was very pleased with the build quality and design. It repeated measurements well and was easy to use. The real test was whether it would increase the speed and accuracy of my setups. I did a test where I routed five 0.25" wide by 0.25" deep grooves in a board 0.5" apart. Each pass I would reset the router bit depth and of course need to measure and set the fence. I did this with both steel ruler and the Wixey. The first couple of setups with the Wixey took a while to get everything setup to within 0.002. But as I figured out how to hold the gauge and adjust the fence/bit depth things went much faster. I cannot say that it was faster using the Wixey than it was a steel ruler. As for accuracy I had mixed results. With the steel rule the average error at the fence was 0.0034 and for bit depth was 0.0038. Even at this level of accuracy I would need to make a couple of test cuts and machine adjustments to get the correct joint fit. With the Wixey I had an average error at the fence of 0.0138 and for bit depth 0.0020. The Wixey was better at setting the bit depth than it was at setting the fence. I don't see that the Wixey would allow me to avoid making test cuts and machine adjustments, nor do I feel it made the setups any faster. I am inclined to think that it would not make a significant difference in my woodworking.

Frame is hard plastic
Frame is hard plastic. Otherwise it seems to be a useful and accurate tool for height measurement in router table and table saw. I prefer a more sturdy frame, my expectations may be too high for the price.

Es muy fácil de utilizar.
Me resulta muy útil para las elevaciones tanto del Reuters, como de la sierra.

Useful device as compliment with caliper
Glad I bought this. I use it for measuring height of features which the caliper has difficulty in measuring

Not useful for setting table saw height
I bought this to set the height of my table saw blade for cutting dados but it wasn’t useful for that purpose. The plastic construction was just too flimsy and my Dewalt job site table saw doesn’t have a magnetic top. Biggest problem though is that it is not wide enough to span the throat plate when you account for where you need to measure the blade height so it was basically impossible to get an accurate measurement. Gauge blocks and small square ended up working much better than this and my regular calipers do everything else I need. Might be useful for a router table though (have not tried that)
