GRUB2GO Bento Box for Salads

I ordered 2 of these for my kid's lunches. They shipped quickly and we've been using them now for 2 weeks. The kids live them! A little common sense and you should be good to go!As expected with any stainless steel box, it is not leakproof as there is not a silicone seal around the lids. You CANNOT put soup in this. You CAN put foods that are slightly moist such as strawberries, but you'll want to keep any crackers separate as they will become soggy. Even if packed with all dry foods, the kids reported that crackers were stale by lunch when packed that morning, so now I pack them in a reusable silicone baggie. You will want to make sure your lunch bag is such that the Grub2Go box stays upright, and not a bag that will turn the box on its side for carrying or everything would be jumbled together. All of the stainless boxes are way more expensive than the cheap-o plastic containers, but this is an investment you'll want to make, and these were less expensive than many others I saw yet got better reviews. They are quality made! I like that I'm not filling up the landfill with plastic bags or leaching plastic chemicals into my children's food. Also, there would be more than enough room for an average adult's lunch too.Things I don't like? There's 4 pieces that will need to be washed daily if you/child will use them daily and cost would prohibit most people from buying a spare so as not to have to wash them daily. Also, I'm wondering what will happen if a part of the box gets lost? Say the lid goes missing? Can you order a new one or do you have to replace the whole box? Not sure on that, but otherwise we're happy with these!!!

I decided to buy this stainless bento for my work. I've already had another stainless container but it's a bowl not a square one. I wanted more horizontal space and durability so I was looking for something like this.The container has a PRETTY GOOD QUALITY stainless steel, it's not flimsy, the layer doesn't bent, it's thick and clean... That's what I was surprised for!It's easy to clean, a breeze! You don't get odors at all; the material doesn't get rusty.The lock works perfectly, ( note: you can't lock the bento without the last thin tray, in other way it will fits loosely)The only drawback is the space. YES, I measured the 3 trays (it has 2 main trays and a thinner one) and the bento actually has 1600ml but with its full capacity; each tray takes some milliliters from the previous one. When I opened the board box... I was disappointed. Fortunately I bought two containers.Btw I'm satisfied with my purchase, I'd buy it again in the future if this wears out (I don't think so but it might happen). I wish it could be bigger, anyways, I recommend it for all of you, zerowasters, or smart people who do care about plastic toxicity.Thanks!

I ride my bike to work and throw this in the back tire bag. I have a few bumps and curbs that I need to navigate and this thing holds up. I keep it upright and stable. So far so go. The lock holds and it has not come apart. By no means is this thing waterproof. I wanted to check so I loaded it up with water and sure all the water came right out.As for food storage, there is plenty of room and I like the snack try at the top, enough room to hold a sliced apple or fruit. It could use a "fill" line, as I do tend to overfill the bottom causing the stacking to compress the food. Ok for veggies, not so good for tomatoes.The Item came in a cardboard box that smelled like poo, but the box showed no damage or rust spots. I have used some citric acid to keep apples fresh and the steel holds up.Overall, I am very pleased with this product and enjoy the portion control it provides.

Just used my Bento Lunch Box for the first time this morning for my husband's lunch. I love that it is stainless steel and not plastic. Plastics tend to absorb odors. The bottom portion fits his sandwich perfectly. (A standard sandwich, not a hoagie size.) I was able to make a small salad in the second compartment with a small pack of salad dressing and napkin in the top compartment. I tried putting a plastic fork in the top but the fork wasn't flat enough. The top section does have enough room for a snack bar or the like. What I like the most is that it is so compact. If I had made him a sandwich and salad for his lunch, it would take up too much room before having to go to a bigger cooler. He now can take his Bento Box AND a small ice pack AND a canned drink with room to spare in a lunch size "Igloo". I can see where it is not leak-proof because it does not seal as plastic does but if I were to make a potato salad or fruit salad I would pack it in a plastic zip lock sandwich size bag and place it in the second section. The second section can then be used as a bowl when ready to eat. I am very pleased with my purchase and would highly recommend it.

I love this bento box! Being stainless steel, it's sure to last a very long time, and is a dream to clean! I bought it as a lunch box, but after looking at it and pondering different uses, I may have to buy a few more; It would make a great craft container for beadwork, chain maille supplies, all kinds of needlework, and everything in between. As my lunch box, it worked well, and nobody else had one like it! Made of stainless steel, it won't break if it's dropped (yes, I'm a klutz!), so that was a big plus for me. Thank you, Grub2Go, for a great, well-made product!

It's a great looking set. I haven't used it yet for a meal, but from looking at it I probably would not use it for liquids such as a soup since it doesn't have a gasket to prevent leaks, but overall it is a wonderful looking! It does seem to seal really tight and I did not want any plastic on it, so I am very happy to not have a gasket. It is not cheap flimsy stainless steel, but appears to be of high quality. It washes up really nice. I am happy with the Bento Lunch Box and would purchase again and not hesitate to recommend to a friend.
