I work the overnight shift, so it is hard for my body to wake up since it is dark outside when I get up for the 'day.' I've been having some trouble sleeping (it is difficult going to bed at Noon) and a sleep specialist, when I asked about melatonin supplements, said that the best way to use melatonin is to produce it yourself naturally - by waking up and doing a heart-pumping activity under bright lighting.For a lot of 'day' people that might mean waking up and taking a walk or going for a jog in the sunshine, but I can't do that on my sleep schedule. So I bought this lamp and placed it in my dining room next to my walking pad. It is VERY bright on the highest setting, and pleasantly soothing on the lowest setting. Unlit, it looks sort of cheap but once it is lit: it is beautiful! I appreciate the minimalistic design, too.It is cold and snowy right now where I live, and has been for four months now. I didn't think a lack of sunlight would be so impactful on a person (especially one who works overnight and doesn't see the sun much anyhow) but we had a couple of sunny days recently and I felt so alive. Light really does help one's mood.

Seems to function ok. Very lite weight. Not a quality lamp, more like a bargain store toy lamp with a remote. No switch onboard. Over priced.

The media could not be loaded. We got this in hopes that it would help boost our moods during the gloomy winter months. I was weary that something so simple would help, but it really did. I noticed better moods from our children, my husband, and myself. Using it too long can cause a headache so I use the built in timer to insure that doesnt happen. It is easy to use with the remote or by simple turning it on with the base. I plan to purchase another one for the second level of our house. It is built well, my todler has dropped it several times and it has yet to break.
