RV Designer S817 Black Self Contained Dual Outlet with Cover-Plate

Q: How deep is this plug. The wall that this is to be installed in is 1" thick. Will this product work for my application?

I bought a spare unit and checked it with a caliper. If you back out the screws for the wings as far as practical it should work. Worst case, if the screws backed out don't give you enough room to work with, just replace the screws(2) that come with the S811 with longer screws, maybe 1/4" or 1/2" longer. I would use long FH, CSNK, coarse thread, Philips or #2 square sheet metal screws if you can't find the exact same type of screw that came with the S811.

Q: Is this for 12 ga or 14 ga wire? I am looking to relpace the outlets in my 83 terry which uses 12ga.

No it does not accept 12 gage, only 14, voice of experience. It does say 120 volt 15 amp which I did not notice when I ordered it.

Q: is there a cover plate for the back to cover the exposed wires/connectors? thank you

Yes, there is a cover plate that snaps into place. If the wire feeds through to another outlet you will have to break off the tab on the backing plate to allow the wire to feed through

Q: Where can I get the holding clips ?

they are attached to the outlet, rotate into place like a cut in box
