Seems to work perfectly, instructions in broken English
Edit: Mistakenly gave negative review initially. I have noticed on all these similar looking Chinese brand thermostat plugs there are some 1 star reviews saying it doesn't seem to work properly, mainly it not turning on when the temperature drops down again. I too thought this initially but it's because of misinterpreting the start and stop temperatures. I had assumed your start temp at say 20c and your stop at 22c meant that it would supply power when the temp was between 20-22c. The issue is it would stop supplying power at say 22.1c, but not start again at say 21.9c. What it actually does is the temperature has to go below your start temp, it'll then turn on until it reaches your stop temp. Then wait until it dips below your start temp again. So for example if you want your environment at a steady ~20-21c. You would want your start temp to be say 19.8c and your stop to be 20.5c (with most heaters like say oil radiators obviously the temp will continue to rise a bit.)

Brilliant
This is absolutely fantastic at what it does. The thermostat in my freezer failed about 9 months ago and I was unable to source a replacement. I bypassed the thermostat with a spade fuse and bought this, and have been using it ever since to maintain the temperature of my freezer. Since it's a basic freezer and doesn't have any other electrics I've just plugged the original plug into this and bypassed the original thermostat so it works exactly as before. The instructions aren't great but it was incredibly self explanatory to set so not really an issue. I checked the temperature of the freezer using a thermister and can confirm that the temperatures on this controller are reasonably accurate (At least in the -20C region.) Absolute bargain and saved me having to buy a new freezer.

Not linear
This is pretty good for what you pay with a few caveats: - The instructions are next to useless - for example: "After the start of the machine, relay suction when running to ON, Socket output indicator light, Relay shutdown at Off, Light indicator" - The temperature measurement is not calibrated and not linear - it is possible to adjust the reading by holding "Mode" when you turn the power on - but, because it's not linear, you will find that if you adjust for, say, 0C the reading will be considerably off at higher temperatures. Other things to note are: - The socket can operate a heater or a cooler depending on which way round the "ON" and "OFF" temperatures are set. - There are several modes as well as the basic "on and off" modes, but the instructions are so bad you'll have to experiment with them to see if they work. - My socket worked fine in that the power came on the temperature was less than the "ON" temperature and stayed on until it reached the "OFF" temperature. It continued to work like this when the temperature fell below "ON" again. Some reviewers had problems with this - it's possible they had it in a different mode. Buy this if you want to turn something on when it's "quite cold" and off when it's "warmer" (or vice-versa) but not if you need accuracy over a wide temperature range as it's not accurate enough to allow this. Otherwise, for the price it's not bad.

Convenient once set up properly (after a struggle)
1. Instructions are so badly translated as to be almost useless. However, through trial & error, I did eventually get it to come on & off at set temps. However I cannot figure out the timers or any other functions. 2. Unfortunately I soon found that the temp reading was inaccurate, several degrees out. It needed calibrating - but how? Fortunately good ol' YouTube came to the rescue (hold down 'function' while switching on) and I was able to set it to the right temperature. 3. Unfortunately I found that, even when calibrated, it was accurate only over a small range. This was OK for me (using at 70-79C for brewing) but might not be for others. In an ice bath it read -3C and in boiling water it said 102C. 4. Once tediously set up and calibrated, I'm finding it convenient and useful.

Simple to use
Simple to use. Set the temperature that you want it to turn on and set the temperature that will turn it off, plugged in the heater to it and place the thermometer cable somewhere sensible and seems to works well. Used it to keep a small space from getting too cold in the night and have it turned off automatically when the temperature is warmer

Cheap but not reliable - it stopped working after one week.
The controller was delivered on 21/1/25 and worked fine at first. However, on 29/1/25, the screen went blank and it just stopped working. I'll put the refund money towards a better controller.
