Is it harder to push than the 8-slice one? I have that one and it's a bit dull now but I still love it

I have the 16 slicer, and I think it is harder to cut than the 8 slicer. There are twice as many blades, so twice as much resistance. I found it hard to push through on my kitchen counter, but it is easier on the kitchen table, which is lower. I can really get my weight into it!

What is the diameter of the central corer?

Oops sorry didn't understand the question. Yes the center circular core/pit remover is exactally one inch in diameter.

How do you sharpen the blades? Ours seems to have worn over time.

Hi Monica! You might (stress 'might') be able to find a knife sharpener that could work but the product was not designed with sharpening in mind. I'm relatively happy with this slicer It has a couple of downsides 1) The slicer takes up more space when slicing the apple as the solid plastic has to be extended 2) it's difficult to clean - I feel the slices are on the narrow side therefore making it difficult to remove any apple that may have got stuck in the blades
