Great price and fast delivery.
Great product, don't understand why they shipped in a box 10 times to big.

Works great for burying 12V lighting wire.
I was able to bury 12V outdoor lighting wire fairly deep by first using a power edger to cut about 2" into the turf. Then I would use this trencher as follows: (a) put into channel; (b) push forward; and (c) pull backward. This would actually "lift" up the turf on the far side of the channel and make placing the wire very easy. I didn't have any roots and the ground was fairly wet which made it even easier. Very well made and an incredibly strong spade...no flex at all.

Indestructible
After softening some battle hardened clay soil with a bit of water, I was able to dig the spade completely into the ground and apply FULL pull back force and leverage the 1 foot deep scoop of soil upward. There was absolutely no bending of the shaft nor on the scoop end. This tool could be used as a pry bar in the machine shop. The handle, shaft & spade end are indestructible. I imaging this tool can be handed down for another generation of family use.I dug about 100 feet in about an hour to be followed up later by laying low voltage wire for landscaping lights.

It works well with a little help.
Great tool, built like a tank. Very sturdy and well built. It was difficult to penetrate through the sod even after wetting it. Not much of an edge on the Kenyon. What I did that made all the difference, was start the trench with an everyday edger. Once that was done, it was very easy to make a trench. Did a 130 foot trench in about 90 minutes. Takes a little practice when you encounter rocks but you can manipulate the tool to shift them off to the sides. When I came across larger tree roots I just used a pair of loppers. It’s been about a week and the trench is just about unnoticeable.

Perfect size and weight.. perfect tool
I used this tool to run landscape wire from flower bed to trees in middle of yard. 8 inches deep was relatively easy, mostly, because of a good rainfall a couple of days earlier. Definitely. Worth the money.

Nice tool but need a heavier operator
I really wish I could use this to bury a fiber optic line, but when I stand on it, it just stays on top of the ground. I'm petite. I ended up digging this trench by hand because I was undersized for this trenching tool

blade too thick or something
it just doesn't work. I tried it on very soft ground, minimal to no l effort to dig with a shovel, i couldn't get the tool under the surface more than 2 inches.I tried it on wet soaked soft ground with the same results. I even sharpened the edge of the blade and it did not help. The places I tried to use it I had no problem putting a shovel 8 inches in the ground. I ended up using a Trench Shovel, I could slide it 3 inches under the soil for many yards then go back over it 3 inch deeper. Note: I'm not light weight.

Fast and effective - great tool for installing low-voltage lighting
This is a real timesaver for installing low-voltage lighting. Far less work than digging a trench with any kind of shovel, and much less disruption to the lawn. We have very clay-y soil, so it took a few plunges to get to the required 6" depth, but the process is really fast. (I marked a line across the blade with a silver Sharpie so I'd know when I was deep enough). This thing is heavy, which is what allows it to work quickly, so it's a bit of a workout - but that just makes it a good productive substitute for the gym!
