Yes there is a strong aluminum wire at the top to shape to the nose.

Q: Are these made in china? Are they bad quality?

Hi Bob, Yes these are made in China, but they are high quality. These have 510k clearance from the FDA in the USA and have been tested by Nelson labs in the USA. If you are disappointed by them, you can always return it for a full refund.

Q: Do these protest me from others? Or am I just protecting others from me?

Both. These masks are not the N95 or KN95 that offer the greatest protection. But they do meet the ASTM Level 2 criteria and are meant "to be used by healthcare personnel during procedures to protect both the patient and the healthcare personnel." Like most masks, they are designed for one time use.
