Sometimes Less Is More
This file sharpener appeared to be very well made and came in a very nice little leather sheath. That being said, I have very seldom used a file to sharpen anything. The Gransfors Bruks axe I got this sharpener to use on came with a less than impressively sharp edge on the head. This sharpener sold for $50 and was intended to be used as a first step in sharpening the axe; for the second step in sharpening your Gransfors Bruks axe, a Gransfors Bruks diamond sharpener that sells for $70 was recommended. Total cost for being able to use Gransfors Bruks sharpeners to sharpen your Gransfors Bruks axe: $120.00.After 13 strokes, and approximately 20 seconds, with my $15(?) Smith knife sharpener that I had purchased at Walmart, my new Gransfors Bruks axe was beyond razor sharp. Need I say more?

Paying for the brand name here.
Expensive for what it is. You can buy they same thing at a hardware store. You pay for the name.

Great accessory to other Gransfors Bruks products
I purchased this along with a hand hatchet from the same company and this is an extremely well made product, as was the hatchet. This sharpens very well and very quickly and the edge is extremely long lasting. This makes a great accessory to their other products and is an excellent value. I absolutely recommend this product and will buy from this company again.

Flimsy / Crappy
Broke after 1 use. The handle isn't adhered to the sharpener. I think the one I got was used / defective. I need to return this / get a new one. Total piece of crap!

Seems expensive at $50.00, but well worth it
I just spent several weeks resharpening all my knives and axes starting off with this fine sharpening file. This file along with my three Spyderco ceramic honing stones are really all I need to keep everything razor sharp. This tool is so good I am considering getting the Gransfors Bruks diamond file, which is more expensive.

Short file
I was disapointed by the file and returned it for a full refund with no problem. It is basically a 3.5 inch mill or mill batard file with a cute handle. $50 is too much for half a file that isn't so magical. I bought a 10 inch comporable Nickelson file for less than $10 at True Value.

Needs better handle
Handle was poorly attached and fell off when I first tried to draw the file from the very tight-fitting case.

Good quality
Honestly, I haven't used this yet to sharpen my Grandfors Bruks Axe because it hasn't dulled so far. It fits in my hand well and should prove to be a valuable tool.
