How do you clean the wooden tools? The wood is just cheap unvarnished balsa

there isn't much cleaning to do. It is clay that is cleaned off by water or scraped off.

What is the tool that is a wire connected to the wood pieces for??

This is used to cut blocks of clay. You pull on the two wood pieces in opposite directions, one piece in each hand, in order to straighten the wire. Then you place the wire on top of a block of clay and pull down. This makes a slice through the clay.

Great tools

Very worth my money. Amazingly functional. Very durable. Great variety it is nice and it's easy to use. Although the tools get clay in them and you have to dip them in water before use. And some of the ball point tools have the same size.

Use these every class

I’m in a college level intro to ceramics and without these tools i would be screwed! I use these every class and they have really come in handy for any hand building projects. Also have used some of these tools for wheel throwing and they are very useful. Definitely recommend these, especially considering the price! One disclaimer; a couple of the tools have broken, but i can’t complain!
