Very good little hot water heater for an old camper/trailer
We got this installed in a very old camper. It replaced the original water heater that blew a hole right in the tank. We did have to make a fit adjustment. Meaning we had to make the cut out that was there for the original heater a little be bigger due to the Styrofoam backing. We did have a problem with bees making a pollen stash in the gas line. Once we got that cleaned out and hooked the gas line up, all was perfect.this is a very quite heater when it kicks on. Hot water in 5mins or less. Plenty of hot water for washing dishes and showers. No problem starting the heater and have to turn it on and off and wait to try to ignite it again. We were going to buy one from a reputable rv installer but we found the price to be very expensive not including installation. My husband did this by himself and he has never done anything like this before. He did a great job and no worries. We did also buy some putty tape to go around the opening and to hold the heater in place on the inside floor of the cabinet. Just like the old one.It is not screwed in yet as we keep forgetting our drill/screw drive attachment. Also this is the second one we bought as the first one from another dealer here on Amazon was badly dented and we had to send it back.PPL sent it right out and in perfect condition.I recommend this heater if one is in need of a replacement for their camper. Just get one that is the same size and gallon weight and set up as what you have. As replacement for my old one this would be the upgrade and newer model of that one. No pink insulation like on the old one. It is better with the Styrofoam.Good luck if you are looking for a new one get this one if it is your type of replacement.fawn

... installation instructions so I was thankful my cousin was smart enough to get it in
It didn't come with any installation instructions so I was thankful my cousin was smart enough to get it in. It's a little slow to ignite but not sure if that is more related to the water heater or the distance the propane needs to travel to get to it. Overall, it heats the water... have only used my motorhome once since install so I will update after a full season next year if things change.

Almost exact fit for 1986 Argosy trailer 6 gal heater.
Almost an exact replacement for the Atwood 6 gallon heater from my 1986 Argosy trailer. I had to remove the foam insulation from the top half and the water outlet pipe sticks out about 1.5 inches further so I can't replace the interior wall panel. The existing propane and water connections fit without modification. I used fiberglass insulation on the top and sides because there is no room for the rigid foam. Heater works great...simple is good. Instructions are useful. Still thinking about how to finish interior wall, but pleased with purchase.

Perfect replacement for 1988 yukon wilderness camper
Fast shipping. direct replacent is better than original with insulation foam to keep it hot longer..Very easy to install. No screws come with it, so you will need about 24 #8 pan head screws about 3/4" long.

Exccellent
My husband installed it himself. It wasn't too difficult. The water heater was just the right size for our camper.
