I-Semble Rockler Queen Murphy Bed Hardware Kit Vertical Mount

Amazing Murphy bed kit that saved me literal HOURS of work. Bought the queen bed kit and it went very smoothly. Solid steel, strong pistons, detailed assembly instructions for the rookie builder. Follow the instructions! I built the simple box frame from their instructions and it took a long weekend. I ripped plywood on my table saw and used the Iron on wood strip for the edge to clean it up. Took about 3 days with waiting on glue to dry, and paint coats. It's a simple box frame, but you can absolutely jazz it up with some trim etc. I'll add that at a later date. Pay close attention on the hardware mount locations in the instructions as you don't want a slanted bed. this thing is sturdy. We put on a 10" memory foam mattress and it feels great! It says not to use memory foam, but it works fantastic. I'm assuming they're worried it'd be too light..... yeah.. .10" of memory foam ain't light. Plus with that thick plywood on the front it ain't going anywhere.

I searched a lot of Murphy Bed products, kits, and plans and this "I Semble" Murphy Bed hardware is simply the best. I've done plenty of kits over the years and loved working with this one. The instructions are very clearly done (accurate and in English) with many photo's and illustrations. The hardware is high quality with all threading sharp and easy to fit together. Rockler sells very good products (usually pricey as is this kit) but I like good value and this kit has good value.

This kit assembles easily, and comes with reasonable instructions for fabricating the enclosure. The only “negative” I would make, has nothing to do with this hardware kit but with the instructions. After completing the project, we installed a standard 10 inch thick mattress. Unfortunately, the mattress is a little too thick to allow the cabinet to close completely. If the instructions offered cabinet wall dimensions for different mattress thicknesses, I think they would have a 100% completely successful product.

This kit was perfect for the custom Murphy bed we made. The instructions were clear and easy to follow along. The quality of this bed frame is great!

We have finished the project and it is AMAZING!!! But it was not all "peaches and cream". First of all, the pivot point on one of the side rails was missing and it's not something that can be simply added. We contacted Rockler and we had replacement rails within a few days. Exceptional customer service! After we got the new rails, the frame went together simply and easily. But the CABINET was a different story! The dimensions of the cabinet are VERY exacting; not a project for someone who has only built ready-to-assemble furniture or simple bookshelves. Know thyself before attempting this project. It took us a week to complete the project and it was well worth the effort. But you've been warned!

If you build a queen size Murphy bed following the instructions that come with this kit, the bed takes 2 people to open and close it. The springs aren’t strong enough for a queen sized bed.

Good product, skeleton, mechanism, documentation but the cabinet was, for my medium carpenter skills, kind of hard - not an easy job + price is high here - on manuf page u can getcupons. Make sure you select the right size to match the matres.

The bed frame is easy to put together and comfortable to lay on. Beware in assembly to follow all instructions on mechanism for bed lift. As a man I don’t read instructions!! But on this I had to since it is a lot of measuring to layout the lift system. And if you add weight as I did it makes it heavier to lift. I can manage but just a note.
