Is this all I need to get a razor edge on my pocket knife or do I need additional grits as well?

Yes. Grit 400 is to repair or put edge on very dull side & Grit 1000 will sharpen the edge. If you need extra fine polish pls check our high Grit 1000/6000 or 3000/8000 Stone.
