Wow! Fixed my DC40!
I thought my $300 vacuum was dying because of the loud noise it was making. Researched online and found out it could be the filter. Replaced the filter and my Vac was back working and sounding like new!! Thank You! Thank You! Thank You! Very Happy!

Vacuum was whining when I would turn it off. YouTube.com suggested dirty filters. Attempted washing, but no luck. Ordered these ( be careful when ordering, had to return first order ( too big) second time I found lot number on round filter and used that. Fit perfectly. Easy install - less than a minute. And unlike some reviews stating replacement was cheaper quality than original to vacuum, mine was exact same, sturdy filter. Most of all. NO MORE WHINE when vacuum powers down. 110% pleased
