The filaments of the fiber light are pretty. I rated as 3 because the base is plastic and even with 3 double A batteries it is very light. I had anticipated a light with more substance. My error.

Torn on what stars to give because I'm sure this seller is shipping the exact same lamp as everyone else so it isn't their fault I don't like it.Still, it is a disappointing lamp to anyone old enough to have had one in the 80s. The ones we used to get were corded, no fussing to remove and recharge the batteries every few days (and WHY does this thing require a specialty screwdriver to change the batteries?!? suuuuuper annoying!) and they were less tippy and at least twice as bushy.But hopefully when I give this to the grands they will be impressed, having nothing to compare it to.Note that the instructions say the fibers will settle into a nicer shape after a few days out on the table. I plan to leave it out until right before the kids show up, so it will have a nicer shape when they unpack it, rather than have their first impression of it be when it's not looking its best.You should unpack it early anyway just to make sure it works and put batteries in it. May as well let if fluff out while you're at it.I do wish they sold one twice as big for twice the money. But they don't so... this will do.
