This bracket-type pull pin lock looks pretty old school and/or simple, but I did my research to see if this is something my parents ( who are obviously getting older ) need to implement at their home.The door chain is really a great idea in theory however if it’s opened and someone pulls some quick reversal on me, I’m toast. This is the same idea as the door chain, but it’s incredibly stronger; there’s just no contest in terms of which is going to keep me safest. It can withstand being struck with 2000 lbs of force, and that absolutely blows the door chain out of the water!I feel safe with this on each entryway in my home… people are so nuts these days, I have about four kinds of locks and security on each entryway door. I feel I live in a fortress! I guess if the purge does happen, at least they won’t be busting my door down and if they try they will most likely exhaust themselves before they can think to try anything else ( let’s hope haha )Honestly, why not? The price point was pleasantly surprising and I’ve read many positive stories of how this simple tech-less device has kept nefarious individuals from even trying to break in, as a small portion of the bracket / pull pin lock shows on the other side of the door. I bought this for actual security & kick-in protection, not as a child lock. Because of this, I fully expected to drill deeper holes and use my own longer structural screws to reinforce the lock into the house framing. However, I still had to make some minor changes because the gap between the door and door frame was so large (see pictures). This door is also recessed so I had to cut out part of the trim to accommodate the lock, but I had planned for that anyways.The first time I installed it, only a small sliver of the lock was actually reaching the edge of the door. Because of this, forcing the door was causing the entire door frame to flex sideways. This caused the gap to widen just enough so the door slid right past the closed lock, even with the longer screws.To prevent this, I installed two more recessed 3" screws behind the lock, at the very edge of the door frame. The lock isn't able to twist or flex sideways as much now. This seems to have fixed the problem, and I can even back those 2 screws out slightly if I need to push the edge of the lock to "stick out" more towards the door.

The media could not be loaded.  We have an expensive, all wood dog crate that is meant to look like a piece of furniture. It had a standard slide latch that got weak over time with lots of use. We looked into lots of different options before settling on this type of latch. We knew it would be secure, hold up to use and also be easy for our children to open with the finger loop.It has held up to multiple times a day, daily use for months.10/10 would recommend.

I have had these types of locks in the past and these are of a way higher quality. Not to mention they are an inch bigger than the standard and also can handle 200 extra pounds than the standard. To say these locks Exceeded my expectations is an understatement. I paid more money in the past for a single lock of this style and these Mousike locks make my old one look like a toy. If you are handy I would drill, tap and screw the finger hole to the lock. Aside from that, these are perfect in my opinion. I am not being compensated in any kind of way for this review. The locking mechanism is fine but the screws that come in the package are worthless. I used my own screws to make it work.

Purchased because hubby works nights sometimes and I want to feel safer w my kids. This is 8" stop with metal construction with screws that can withstand 1800lbs of force which is 30x stronger then a normal deadbolt.this works for left or right hinged doors. It prevents robbers from getting in but is easy to open incase of an emergency. Very easy to install with an impact and a Phillips bit. It easily mounts on the door frame. It installs in less than 6minutes and will work on any inward swinging door.

I use these to help with my mom who has Alzheimer's. It has saved her from wandering twice already, and has held up despite her trying to yank the door open at 6am - so hard that the banging sound woke me up! I know they're not really meant for this purpose, but it really is wonderful for helping to avoid sending someone with Alzheimer's or Dementia into a rage. Instead she just gets confused and irritated, and I am able to redirect her. I've made sure to never, ever let her see me locking or unlocking them, because you never know what might stick in her memory, and then I risk her wandering away and getting lost outside. Our street is fairly busy, and she could easily get lost or hurt. It has saved me endless anxiety and worry. Nice quality of material, nice price.

Fitted this yesterday (first in UK?) and I would say it is almost an iconic product. The reason for knocking a star off is having to add the ridiculous ring-pull to get it to work as it should. The ring-pull is now at least screw-in rather than stuck on as was originally, with a bit of tape: I guess that must have been "Marketing's" idea! Some kind of pulling extension is definitely needed, but it needs to integrate and be a part of the whole concept. What we have here ruins the whole aesthetic which is a real shame because otherwise it is a thing of beauty and efficacity at a good price point that is vastly better than a standard bolt in every way!
