Does the tape need to be purchased separately - or does it come with your first roll?

It comes with a roll of 1/2" x 10' black print on white labels. The rolls purchased afterwards in the 1/2" width are 23' long and last quite a bit longer than the first roll will last, especially if you calculate in the misprints during the learning curve!

Does it waste a lot of tape when printing? The "Brother PT1290" prints the label on a longer piece than necessary.

Yes! It definitely wastes a lot of label. It has a lead of 1/2 inch before and after each label, effectively wasting a full inch of blank label with every single print, and the labels look funny with all that extra white space, so you need to manually trim them down. Huge pain.

Considering purchasing the DYMO 160 hand held & extra tape but what is the difference between tape and tape cassette (45013 & 45113) which do I buy?

does it print 2 lines

Yes it will print 2 lines on the 1/2 in tape that comes with it. You have to use a smaller font (I think 8-12 pt is all it will let you use) but it does work!

It works, price is right

Initial impressions of the product are quite good. Not a fan of using batteries but there is 9v-2a power connector (no power adapter included) - Minimal instructions in the box. Also felt like the pack was a returned item. The contents inside did not have that factory wrap - For the price ; it's okay ....time will tell if it lasts.

Acostumbrado a los Dymo antiguos, mecánicos, esto es otra historia...

Me ha gustado muchísimo la rapidez y lo bien que quedan las etiquetas así como lo fácil que es utilizarlo. Por contra y el motivo de que sólo lo puntúe con dos estrellas es que estaba usado. Venían dentro de la caja con trozos cortados de la cinta. La cinta venía puesta. Me lo he quedado por dos motivos: primero porque me urgía utilizarlo y el más importante es que funcionaba correctamente y no ha dado ningún problema en 40 etiquetas que he hecho hasta ahora. Garantía de un año, así que veremos que pasa porque le tengo que dar mucho trabajo...

Excelente etiquetadora. Es muy fácil de configurar y usar, incluso para personas que nunca han utilizado una antes. La impresión es clara y profesional, y cuenta con varias opciones de tamaño, fuente y símbolos para personalizar las etiquetas. Los cartuchos son fáciles de instalar y el equipo se siente resistente y de muy buen material. La he utilizado para organizar comida, artículos, documentos, y mas.
