Great combo, especially for kids stepping up to spinning reels/rods
Got this for my 5 year old son to step up to a spinning combo. The combo feels a lot more expensive than the $25 I paid for it. We have used it over a year now and it performs awesome. He has caught several bass on it and has had no problems handing any of the fish. It's lightweight enough that he can control very easy.

This is a very nice combo at a low price point.
This is a very nice combo at a low price point. You really can’t find a better deal even at a big department store sale. I think the reel is a bit of a step up from the rod, but that's only because the reel is that nice. Don't get me wrong this is a quality 2 piece rod, it’s light, made of IM6 graphite with good guides and a Texas rig hook keeper. It also has a modern reel seat, firm EVA foam handles and even has cork on the bottom of the butt. The rod has a sensitive tip and enough backbone as well. Could do without the two tone color but its not so bad. The reel is the deal maker, it has reversible wind and has instant anti reverse. With 6 ball bearings it is very smooth with no wobble during retrieves. The handle is level and tight, it has a comfortable knob, the spool is made of hard aluminum and the reel casts super long (depending on line size, I use 8lb mono). From what I can tell it’s made of the same materials as much higher priced gear. Tough to beat this value priced combo, very nice offering from Ardent.

Good pole! Strong enough to use crakbaits.Great for medium sized bass and awesome for panfish.Only 4 star because of a super minor annoyance where the handle doesn't lock into unfolded position super well.

Got one of two today for my son to step up to a spinner and I’ve use ardent for years and love them but this one was tossed on the front steps by ups broke the pole and the reel was missing the crank and handle assembly so gota replacementorder for #1 and 2 will be here mon... well# 2 got here it’s fine the replacement for #1 got here as welll and it’s broke haha

Rod handles for reel broke off the first day used.
Unfortunately the very first day I used this rod the handles that hold the fishing reel broke off. Now the rod is useless and wasted money on this combo. I would avoid purchasing and go for something with better quality.
