Everything I Need to Know I Learned from RPGs: A player's handbook for the game of life (The Game Master Series)

I’m about halfway through the book so far, and I think it is really well done. It’s a great blend of compelling writing and meaningful observations about life and the world. You can tell the author put a lot of thought into this. And, it offers an opportunity to dive deep into some D&D analysis from an unconventional perspective, which I really enjoy.

Sometimes there’s a book that brings the right message to the right person at the right time and in the right way. This Players Handbook for the Game of Life is full of insightful and deep lessons to be learned from D&D and in life, all presented with wit and some level of levity. I feel like this book articulates some of my most profound discoveries… and many more that I wish I’d have made sooner in my life. I’d recommend this book for any fan of RPGs but also to anyone looking to reflect and consider life from a variety of perspectives and approaches.

As a DM I've had many discussions with players about character creation that used real life references to flush out how the player wanted to approach playing through a campaign. So this book having the reverse of that conversation, how to incorporate fictional refences into ones real life is all at once familiar, fun, and often funny.

Thoughtfully written nuggets of wisdom, using RPG/fantasy metaphors. If you're an RPG/fantasy fan, it will be easy to follow and relate to the life advice offered.There's also fun charts to help guide your thoughts on personal issues. (touches on emotional issues also)The physical book is hardbound and good quality materials/color/art.I follow self-help content and this book gives solid advice, in an interesting way. It was definitely written by a smart person(s). I would recommend it!
