No, it doesn't. That is one of the things I'm allergic to so my dermatologist included Free & Clear hair products on my "safe list." I have been using it without a problem for months.

Does it help with dry hair? I don't have any scalp problem but I love that the shampoo is fragrance-free. Just wondering if it's good for dry hair.

It would be good for dry hair as it doesn't have chemical irritants that could dry your hair out even more.

Does the conditioner detangle well?

No. I have long hair that tangles easily. I love this shampoo but the conditioner doesn't work super well for detangling. I always use another product for detangling unfortunately. This product set is really great, just wish conditioner detangled better

Does the shampoo protect color treated hair?

On the bottle: "Recommended for all hair types as well as color treated or permed hair". So I would say yes.
