Review of 3 flashlights
My goal is to be able to scan the woods from my porch, about 450 feet away to the large tree trunk in the images. I got these three lights to test, seeing as they all advertise they can ‘reach’ many yards out.Streamlight ProTac HL 5-X ,3500 LumensSmith & Wesson M&P Delta Force MS 3xCR123 1115 LumensFenix TK22UE Ultimate Edition 1600 LumenThe Streamlight is my favorite. It is also the largest and heaviest. This light really shows the greatest area to scan for monsters. Its great. I like that the on button is located in the middle, not on the bottom. So its easier to flip on and off quickly with my thumb. The batteries come out to charge. It gets a little warm around the top light part. The rubber feeling grip is nice. I have not used up the batteries yet so can not comment on their lifetime. The M&P is the second largest. It is a decent weight but not too heavy. I did notice the barrel gets slightly warm as I was using the light. This one has the ‘low, flash, high” memory buttons. At first I was like uggg (bad word) I don’t want to have to rotate through all the modes to get to high, I want it to be on high all the time. With the ‘memory mode’ it HAS been staying on high every time I turn it back on.The ability to light up the woods seems to be pretty good. This one has a slightly narrower beam then the other two.My only concern with this one would be the battery life, I am always going to be using this on high so that is only 105 minutes. If I have to get new cr123 batteries, these seem to be about $2 each on amazon so $6. So depending on how often I need to replace these that can get expensive. As a pro tho I would be able to instantly replace the batteries and don’t have to wait for recharging. The Fenix TK22UE is the smallest flashlight. This is a good choice for a “pocket-able” light. I can fit this light in the side pocket of my pants pretty easily. Its also not too heavy. This is brighter then needed for ‘average’ use. Its overly bright for needing to pick up dog poop but you should surely find it.It can light up the woods pretty well. The beam is not as narrow as the MP.I have not used up the battery so can’t comment on longevity. It does use type C cable which I would need to buy a backup of.

"Memory module" inconsistent & annoying
This is an extremely bright / clean light on it's brightest setting. So that is great. I purchased this for work. My issue is: when I turn it on, it doesn't always default to the last setting. Sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't. I always want it on the high lumen settings. But most of the time I have to cycle through the 2 other settings. I have other things to concentrate on when I deploy it. Not to mention my partners LOVE when I turn the strobe on 5 times during a MV stop or search. Maybe it is me, but I waited a full week prior to this review. Good luck.
