Was very easy to setup 👌 Qfile Pro app allows your phone to easily sync selected folders when you get home. Never lose any photos/files again.

Great quality at a good price. Exceeding my expectations.

You need 2 hard disk to cram in here, no surprise. The software is not incredibly intuitive, more so complex, but I guess that's because of how fully-featured it is. I've set up users and folders, I've got Plex running on it, my Sonos library is on there. Basically, for me, it acts as a simple mirror. All working nicely until the day it beeped at me loudly and said 1 of the 2 Seagate NAS disks was suspect, it removed it from the RAID pair and showed red on the front panel. I got myself a new disk and changed it over... the NAS spent several hours (about 6 I think) rebuilding the RAID array and I have green lights on the front again. I don't expect disk failures, maybe I got unlucky... but at least I am not only depending on theory now - my data feels safe enough.

Whilst retired I do have an IT support background. However despite using the recommended NAS drives (Seagate Iron Wolf Pro) which I was intended to use in a RAID1 configuration, I found this NAS so difficult to set up and use that after over 8 hours of trying I decided enough was enough and I am returning it for refund as its simply not intuitive. (unless it's faulty) Keeping it simple, I did use the configuration wizard and this seemed to work, but be warned, there is lots of technical jargon in there and unless you understand this (or google it) then it will not be easy for the uninitiated. Other than a how to physically fit the drives in the bay, there is no manual provided in the box, though this can be downloaded if you can figure out which one to download as even that is not intuitive. I could see and access the drive(s) once it had gone through the configuration and I was able to access them - I think. But then trying to copy files over from my local MacBook Pro hard drive to the NAS just kept failing with some obscure error code. I know it's not the local drive as doing the exact same copy of files to an external SSD worked flawlessly. Likewise, same files could be uploaded to my cloud storage without error. So, can only be the NAS. I also then tried to copy the files from the SSD to the NAS via the direct copy function button on the NAS but this did not work and apparently needs to be configured, but how and where, its not clear and I could not see anything obvious in the QNAS application. Again, not intuitive or user friendly by any stretch of the imagination. Yes, I did try the QNAS on-line help but again this was counter intuitive and I could not even get to their support site for assistance. After 8 hours of struggling and getting nowhere I gave up. If you are a seasoned IT Pro who understands NAS it may be fine, after all I may have done something wrong in the initial config (who knows). If you are a home user with limited technical knowledge then find someone who can help you or avoid and save yourself the frustrations. 1 Star as I could not get it to work. That said the build quality seems good.

Neat looking and easy to install and set up NAS.

This was intended to be an upgrade from my old single-bay Synology. Straightaway it was evident that, although both did virtually the same things, QNAP's software was a lot more convoluted, and setup was much more complicated. I got there in the end, only to discover that, from a total hard drive capacity of 11tb, I was only able to get a maximum volume of 7.6tb. Some shortfall is to be expected, but not of such magnitude. Perhaps I did something wrong in the setup, but, if so, QNAP has to take responsibility for not making things easier for users. I did a search on Google to see how others got on with QNAP NAS setup, only to find others reporting similar drastic shortfalls. I returned the QNAP NAS, and continued using my old but perfectly serviceable Synology. It would have been nice to have the extra capacity with two drive bays, but the Synology works perfectly well with external hard drives.

Too easy to brick. Very limited RAM: minimal app use causes swap disk warning. Software allows 2FA setup to be abandoned making it impossible to log in and cannot do a factory reset without logging in. Hardware reset and even firmware restoration failed to make the unit usable.

Très content. Il fait son travail, j'ai notamment activé la fonction de synchro auto des photos du téléphone lorsqu'il est sur wifi, j'ai donc une sauvegarde permanente (fini les panne de tel et la perte de photo). Il y a énormément d'application installable sur l'interface et je n'utilise pas 100% de son potentiel.

Además, necesitaba una Nas con acceso FTP, SMB o WebDAV, algo que había mirado en modelos como el WD My Cloud, pero no ofrecía esas opciones. Por eso, tras comparar, me decidí por este QNAP TS-233, que cubría todas esas necesidades sin problema. Ya la conocía del trabajo y me parecía muy completa. Tiene un diseño bastante bonito y compacto, perfecto para colocar en el escritorio sin que moleste. Además, cuenta con dos bahías que permiten hasta 18 TB de almacenamiento, lo cual es ideal para tener espacio de sobra en el futuro. En cuanto a ruido, es muy silenciosa, aunque tarda un poco en iniciarse, pero una vez que está funcionando, ni te enteras de que está ahí. Me sorprendió lo sencillo que fue montarla y configurarla, incluso para alguien como yo que no tiene mucha experiencia con este tipo de dispositivos. La instalación fue bastante intuitiva, y las opciones de configuración son amplias. También viene con aplicaciones móviles que funcionan muy bien. Con ellas puedes gestionar todos tus archivos de forma remota, lo que significa que puedo acceder a mis datos desde fuera de casa sin complicaciones. Una de las cosas que más me gustan es la cantidad de aplicaciones que puedes instalar, incluyendo varias dedicadas a la seguridad y protección contra malware. Además, incluye apps para copias de seguridad automáticas y hasta Plex, que convierte la NAS en un servidor multimedia. Así puedo tener todas mis películas y series organizadas como si tuviera mi propio Netflix en casa, lo cual es un plus enorme. Otra opción que descubrí, es la posibilidad de instalar aplicaciones de terceros después de instalar el repositorio MyQNAP Tengo otros modelos, como el WD My Cloud y un Synology, pero esta QNAP es la que más me gusta. Ofrece muchas más opciones de configuración y personalización, lo que la hace más versátil. Además, las actualizaciones de software son constantes, así que siempre estás al día con las últimas mejoras y características. Cuenta con una tarjeta de red Gigabit de serie, lo que asegura que las transferencias de archivos sean rápidas, pero también puedes ponerle WiFi si lo prefieres, usando una pastilla USB (que no viene incluida). Para la primera carga de archivos, la conecté directamente a la placa base del PC, y la velocidad de transferencia fue unas 10 veces más rápida que por la red normal, así que si tienes mucho que subir, te recomiendo hacer lo mismo. En resumen, es una NAS que me ha sorprendido para bien desde que la descubriera. Tiene múltiples funciones de seguridad y opciones de personalización. Excelente equipamento

Eine sehr schöne SAN Lösung. Ich nutze es lediglich um meine Daten sicher abzulegen. Die Einrichtung war einfach und der Betrieb ist zuverlässig. Ich bin rundum zufrieden.

Działa poprawnie, po niektórych wcześniejszych recenzjach miałem spore obawy przed kupnem. Niektórzy z użytkowników narzekali na: 1. Hałas. Ale to nie do końca prawda. Z dyskami SSD z odległości 2 m prawie go nie słychać. 2. Wolny transfer danych. Fakt, przez http (File Station) działa bardzo wolno, ale wystarczy podpiąć go jako dysk sieciowy albo włączyć sewer ftp i transfer osiąga całkiem przyzwoite wartości. Transfer ok. 24 GB zajął mi plus-minus 40 minut a File Station, za pomocą którego próbowałem początkowo przekopiować te pliki, jako przewidywany szacowany czas zakończenia operacji na ponad 17 godzin! 3. Wolne uruchamianie i zamykanie. Fakt, potwierdzam. Uruchamia się ok. 4 minut. Można w tym czasie zrobić sobie i wypić kawę :) 4. Trudna konfiguracja. Chyba nie aż tak, skoro poszła mi za pierwszym podejściem. Podsumowując - po budżetowym sprzęcie spodziewałem się gorszych doświadczeń. Mogę z czystym sumieniem polecić tego NAS-a domowym użytkownikom z niewielkim budżetem. Dla wymagających jest sprzęt 2 - 3 x droższy.
