I feel good supporting this company and love their products.
A product like this is the perfect feel good present to yourself or someone you like. Because they are made in the US, you are supporting home grown business while paying less in the long run. Being a lower income person means finding ways to save on clothing budgets. When you are out in the elements you find out what works over time. I bought a lot of other wool socks which have a lofty weave which is soft, supportive, and breathable for a season and then you see dime sized holes on the heel and ball of the foot. A repair or replacement is soon required which can be expensive. I invested in 6 pair of these which have lasted about 4 years and a several thousand miles of combined biking and hiking in all weather without a hole in sight. The ankles have decent amount of compression which is a plus for backpackers or high mileage hikes to delay leg fatigue. And last but not least the merino wool which keeps the socks smelling relatively cleaner longer if you are camping or on the run.

Lifetime replacement, if on sizing cusp; order a size up
These things are warm and seem to be tough as nails. Of course not literally, but they do seem to be incredibly durable. In fact, the package says if I'm ever able to wear them out they will replace them no questions asked. I don't know the details of the deal or if the customer is responsible for shipping, I would guess not otherwise it would be pretty pointless. Anyways 16 bucks for lifetime guaranteed pair of sock? Seems pretty awesome to me. I will now make it a point to try and wear these socks to the point a hole appears which shouldn't be hard considering every single pair of socks I've ever owned I have worn through them. I take this as a personal challenge. Anyways super warm and comfortable socks. 5 Stars. One note- they run on the smaller side. If you have a wide foot or like a little play in your socks then order a size bigger if you are on the high end of the sizing cusp. If you are on the low end, I think you'd be fine. Iwear 9.5 4E and foolishly ordered medium. They definitely shrink enough to notice.

Glad I braved the negative reviews - these are AWESOME!
I don't get the negative reviews.Sizing - I wear an 11.5 shoe, so I ordered Large socks in accordance with the manufacturer sizing chart. They fit perfectly.Comfort - they're like fleece gloves for your feet! I think maybe the folks that are complaining about the fit have maybe never had socks that hugged their feet like these do? If you're familiar with premium socks like Thor-lo and Smartwool, you know what I'm talking about. There are elastics that hug and support your arch and a defined heel cup that prevents these socks from shifting around in your boot.I wear these socks with my Red Wings in warmer weather - they wick great and actually help keep your feet dry. For cooler weather, try the Darn Tough Merino Wool Boot Sock Full Cushion - it's a winner too! Darn Tough Merino Wool Boot Sock Full Cushion

Really comfortable and functional trail socks. The kind that you buy one pair and then another, and another...
These are really comfortable and functional trail socks. The kind that you buy one pair and then another, and another, until you're only wearing these. Padded in the right spots, durable, breathable (but warm), dry quickly enough, and somehow seem to avoid most of the stink associated with sweaty feet living in hiking boots for several days. I own several other brands of wool socks, but that number is dwindling as these are far and away my favorite. Highly recommend!
