DTech 4K HDMI Dummy Plug – Reliable, Plug-and-Play & Perfect for Headless Use
The DTech 4K HDMI Dummy Plug works exactly as intended and has been a seamless solution for running my system headless. The moment I plugged it in, it detected a display instantly and allowed me to stream/remote into my PC without any resolution issues. It delivers full 4K output smoothly, no flickering, no handshake problems, and maintains consistent performance every time I boot the system. For remote desktop work, GPU acceleration, and server setups, this adapter is a game changer — my system now behaves like a monitor is physically connected, giving me high resolution and better performance vs running headless. Completely plug-and-play, no drivers, no configuration, just connect and done. Only Con: It warms up a little during long use, but nothing concerning — just normal and doesn’t affect performance at all. Overall, if you need a dependable HDMI display emulator that supports 4K and runs flawlessly, this is hands down one of the best picks. Completely worth it.

Works Perfectly for Headless Systems — Plug and Play!
I bought this HDMI dummy plug for my headless setup, and it works flawlessly. My PC immediately detected it as a 4K display, and now I can remote into my system with full resolution and no lag. No drivers needed — just plug it in and it’s recognized instantly. I’ve tested it on both Windows and Linux, and it works great on both. The build quality feels solid, and it hasn’t overheated even after days of continuous use. If you need to run a computer without a monitor but still want GPU acceleration or proper display scaling for remote desktop or mining rigs — this little adapter is a must-have. Great price, fast shipping, and it just does exactly what it claims to do. Highly recommended!

NOT SATISFIED
Didn't like this product at all. The casing came off, it came off the second I opened the the package. So whenever you want to plug it in you need to remove it off first without that you can't plug it, the pictures are misleasding. On top of that this product doesn't work with Linux. I have Ubuntu PC and Ubuntu Laptop, I tried this product alongside RustDesk (Industry leading software for RDP solutions), My PC is LAN connected I get 300Mbps in the PC and my laptop is Wifi connected 80MBps. So within the same network, even with lowest settings and super fast internet speed, this product failed to give to good quality image. Screen loads Pixelated and slow and lags a lot. Not sure if this one piece had any problem or the product itself is defective. Looks like it works for most people who bought this, but for my usecase on Linux-Linux setup this prodcut didn't work. Even AI gave up finally on this. I finally end up using XRDP which was far better than this, I had high hopes Be cautious buyers if Linux-Linux headless setup this product doesn't work "smooth"

I'm not satisfied
"I purchased this 4K HDMI dummy dongle to edit 4K video files on my PC, even though my main monitor is only Full HD. However, the dongle does not show 4K resolution in Duplicate Display mode. When my PC’s main screen is Full HD, the duplicate screen also stays at Full HD and cannot be changed to 4K. It only works in Extended Display mode at 4K. Additionally, the product quality is poor—the outer casing/cap came off

It's cheap and it works. Not excellent quality, but adequate.

Works exactly as expected, no signal light, which is perfect

Using this on my windows based home server. Needed a dummy plug for the HDMI output to simulate the monitor signal so the remote desktop software I use would work correctly. This has been doing its job wonderfully for almost 18 months now. Absolutely worth the cost as it completely eliminated my remote connectivity issues.

I need to remotely access my laptop that I'm using as a plex server. I want the lid for the laptop closed while running, but when it's closed i get a blank screen when i remote in via VNC. This dongle worked to trick the laptop into thinking there is an external monitor connected, thus fixing my blank screen issue. This is the easiest and cheapest fix and it just worked. I love when stuff just works

This thing is amazing and dumb simple. Using to be able to remotely control my personal MacBook from my work computer eliminating the need for multiple keyboards and monitors on my desk. My MacBook can now sit in its stand on the back of the desk closed with a power cable plugged in to activate clamshell mode. Only thing to make this better would be a tiny loop to attach a little tether so I could keep it attached to the power cable when not in use. I already misplaced it on my desk once and took me a while to figure out I had shoved it into my pocket for some crazy reason.
