Glucosamine DS - Level 1 - 70 Soft Chews

Great product that works! I had described positive results with my older cat, but Amazon said it didn't meet 'Community Guidelines' (?) Research online how to give it to your animal.

Cleans hair really alleviates my dog’s arthritic symptoms; taken morning and nighttime at bedtime.

PRO: Inexpensive and effective. CON: Your dogs will constantly beg for them because they apparently taste like illicit drugs. DETAILS: I have a 110lb German Shepherd, roughly eight years old, and a 40ish-pound Border Collie/Australian Shepherd mix, roughly fourteen. The GSD has always had issues with her hips, which typically result in costly vet bills to get her prescription pain medicine. The little one bounces around like a border collie, unsurprisingly, but she's been slowing down as she gets older. I've tried several different glucosamine supplements for them, including human pills (painful to administer twice a day), quite a few dubious-quality supermarket-type supplements, and most recently Pet Naturals Hip & Joint Tablets (which they loved but did nothing for them). Then I found these. For one, both dogs love them like candy. The GSD will sit in the area that I give them their "treats" even when it's not time for her to get them, if I'm in the kitchen, begging. I feed 4/daily to the GSD and 2/daily to the border collie, which is recommended as the 'loading' dose. However, the difference in energy and movement in both of them declines if I bump down to the maintenance dose (2x daily/GSD 1x daily/BC). Since being on these steadily for a month, the GSD has no problems using a 'step' to get up on the bed, which she had problems with for the last year. The stiffness she exhibits when getting up from a long nap is virtually gone, where it used to make her hobble around for the first few steps. She is also more energetic and there's greater freedom to her range of motion when she runs. Moreover, since starting this regiment, the border collie has attempted to run both myself and my fiance into the ground. She doesn't seem to notice that while she feels better, there are still walls around her and she's still blind as a bat! :P TIPS: Keep these where you will remember to give them at first... but don't worry, your dogs will start reminding you to give them their "treats" if you forget.

Wonderful!! No need to search any further (as I did).... My dog reached 12 and began to have pain and/or stiffness as he wouldn't jump up into the car or on the bed anymore. My income is very small and couldn't afford a vet bill plus medication for my wonderful, furry friend. I felt bad about this but began to see good reviews for Glucosamine and MSM for dogs. I was skeptical but it was within my budget so I gave it a try. I am SO GLAD I did!!! If your doggy is starting to hurt don't think twice, give this a try. I also added in MSM right here on Amazon: NaturVet 250 Count Methylsulfonylmethane Tablets . And it did the trick. Within 1.5 weeks my doggy (45 lbs.) had that happy look back on his face and would jump up into the car and on the bed again. Of course, it did not return him to a spry 5 year old, don't expect an older dog to start running all around like a teenager again... no, but you can expect a little skip in his / her step again and yes, you will be able to tell that the pain is much less. My doggy still moves slow at times, but I can tell that these supplements really do work for him. Sometimes I forget to give him his dose in his food and that is when I notice that he doesn't move well and won't jump into the car (no very high, but he really hesitates when we've missed some days of these supplments. This is his dose each day at dinnertime: (45 lbs) = 1 Glucosamine tablet (size of a quarter, chewable & breakable into food); Plus two (2) MSM tablets (small tablets, smaller than a dime, not chewable, my doggy needs a little scoop of meat with them to agree to eat them). I hope you find this helpful. I was so pleasently surprised at his improvement. BTW, I was not asked by anyone to write this review :).

I have 2 large dogs. My pit is only about 3 years old and is already showing some signs of hip problems. She's got a slight limp if she's been layign down for a while. Vet said to put them on a glucosamine supplement so did some research and these chews seem ideal. About 3 weeks on this supplement and the limp is completely gone. She seems to have full flexibility back now too as she lays out flat stretched out on the carpet like she used to all the time when she was a puppy. I was really surprised to see an impact that quickly. Both dogs also love the flavor. They think they're getting treats every night so makes giving it to them easy. The price is a little high on the bottle but there's a LOT of them. That's nearly a 4 month supply for both my dogs. Can't beat that with a stick.

My senior cat has been on holistic gloucosamine for a few years. Unfortunately the product discontinued. I tried this one and my cat likes it. I use it to maintain mobility in his joints. I can't tell if it has improved anything for my cat but it definitely maintains his current mobility.

they seem to help, the dog is much better and is now walking very well and seems completely cured, but I am doing more than one thing to help so this is just one part of the treatment so it is difficult to say which treatment is helping the most.

This product is going to be sent back to you as when looked at the product the sell date had elasped and it was dated 09/2013 so I was not going to give it to my elderly cat.
