OMG I LOVE THIS SO MUCH FR FR
I was trying to find some journal covers that would fit the following criteria:1) must cover at LEAST front and back (the all around zipper is a plus but not necessary)2) It had to have pockets that could fit at least 2 pens, a thin packet of sticky notes, a mini tape ripper for washy tape, and my washy tape roll3) It had to be big enough to fit my soft cover journals (they are A5) - a huge plus if they can fit a hardcover A5 journal but not mandatory4) It should leave minimal if not NO damage to the soft journal when all writing tools are inside and slight pressure is applied outside (this is to simulate travel in a back pack or in a suit case)5) Items should not easily spill out when the journal cover is shaken (aka I don't want my writing tools to be damaged upon rough travel or accidently slip out if I carry it by itself). This test is more important on journal covers that do not have a zipper that goes all the way around but also if it does have a zipper the contents inside shouldn't be moving around like crazy as this can cause unpredictable damage to said soft cover journal. Here are the following results of my test:1) It covers the front and back. If that's enough for you great! However, I will not be taking this out on a rainy day as I wouldn't take out my journal on any rainy day without it being in it's own zip lock bag. (10/10)2) The pockets. Omg, THE POCKETS. I definitely don't need all of these pockets. However, I will rave about the net pocket on the inside cause that fits my washy tape and my tape cutter. The is only one pen holder, but I have seen other people sorta clip their pen on the handle so not terrible but sorta wanted one more. (9/10)3) It was a bit sketchy at first to push my journal in between the two elastic cords but my soft cover journals went through just fine and no damage to their exterior which was perfect! Tested with a hard cover just because and that fit perfectly too. I'm not seeing too much damage on the spine of my journals when closed which is always a plus (10/10)4) OMG. I thought I was going to have the same issue with his journal cover as with the other journal cover. I put my washy tape and my tape cutter as those would do the most damage to my journal. It was a bit awkward of a close but overall no significant damage. I'm sure with continued pressure my soft cover journal would experience some dent but for my short term testing, nothing! Which is always so nice! (9/10)5) When i say, I put my items in the most sketchy pockets/flaps and my pens haphazardly into the journal cover and SHOOK the HELL out of it and not one of them moved (maybe the pen since I didn't fully clip it on so user error there) and EVERYTHING stayed in one place? (10/10 - would shake again)I was super impressed with the journal cover. I'm almost tempted to use it with my hard cover even though I bought it for my soft cover journals. This is worth every penny right of the bat. Now, I can't speak for the longevity of the product. I do tend to abuse the shit out of my journals and there aren't as many really nice hard cover A5 journals (and I also want to preserve my A5 hardcover too don't get me wrong there). I tend to find that softcover journals are much more affordable and sometimes more astatically nice but the hesitancy is that they tend to go through the wringer in my backpack and are begging to be put out of their misery by the time I finish writing in them.I fully intend on coming back to the review if things get better or worse with time but as of currently it's the best journal cover on Amazon.

Stylishly smooth
I love this planner. I use multiple field notebooks at the same time and I can fit three comfortably or 4 at a push. There’s compartments for stamps, notes receipts etc. The cover is smooth, stylish and soft.

Nice case, needs more notebook for the price.
Great case, not sure if it’s completely worth the price, I do like it is waxed canvas and I’m hoping it does well to repel the water and weather. I work in the field all day every day so having something that can withstand the elements and still be able to take my notes needed for students will be welcomed, it also only came with one notebook with not many pages. I like some things about the notebook but I also dislike the pricing for what was included.

Great notebook cover!
Great notebook cover! Holds multiple small notebooks, making it easy to have different styles in one place. I use mine to hold a planner style notebook as well as a plain one for sketching. Lots of other small storage spaces inside too.

Rugged Travel Journal
I have a few Lochby products and I have been very happy with them. They typically are quality made, well designed and meant to last for years. I do a lot of writing, usually in standard notebooks and journals, and I was interested in the field journal that the company offers. It is a good product and I am pleased with it.This is a nice canvas A5-sized notebook cover, and it is designed for the traveler and the outdoorsy type. It is made of waxed fine-weave canvas on the outside which is water resistant, and it has a honeycombed nylon-like lining that is also water resistant. All that said, this is not a fully closed or zippered journal cover and it will allow moisture in if submerged or held such that water can touch the contents. There is a nylon strap along the spine side, so it can be carried to minimize exposure. The closure is a substantial metal buckle. It's a little tough to get open and tougher to close again, but it won't wear out like an elastic band and it won't let go like some magnet closures sometimes do.The inside of this cover has pockets on either side. One side has one big pocket that's suitable for tucking in a notebook cover. The other side has the same but it also has a couple of smaller pockets sewn onto that, and those smaller pockets are good for holding smaller items like keys, a small amount of money, or writing supplies. The included notebook is a small A5 dot grid notebook with 72 pages (36 sheets). I put an Oasis notebook with 80 sheets in and it fit without issue and I was able to tuck the covers into the pockets. So, this cover is not limited to the smaller fillers that come with it. It will not work well with hardcover notebooks, though, as there's no way to get the outer covers in both pockets (it will accommodate one side, which may be sufficient).Other extras include a pen loop, ribbon markers, and elastic bands to hold sheets.I do like this field journal. It's a good product and it's designed to last for many years. I am hopeful that the company will release a full-sized journal cover sometime down the road.

Lochby, great for organizing art supplies on the go
This is a very handy place to keep a sketch pad, and favorite drawing supplies, to grab and go wherever you want to. The zipper holds the supplies in place.

A5 field book. Good cover but needs closure redesign.
I like the combination of strings and a flap to hold my journals. The pockets are a little small for me but usable. The journal cover looks nice and fully covers A5 journals. The closure buckle is really annoying (too heavy and hard to use). I cut it off. I will sew on an easier closure such as Velcro. Overall, I prefer using a cheaper Lihit Lab for cover for my sketchbook as it has a simple elastic closure and a generous front pocket for pens. I do collect covers for my notebooks and sketchbooks and this one is very functional, lightweight, and sturdy. It also holds several thicker notebooks without any problems.
