Pretty Sturdy
I’ve attached several photos so you can see what these look like. They’re definitely sturdier than paper plates. The sizes terrific, especially if you’re having a large meal. I like that you can separate your food. I keep wondering if they’re reasonable. May be wrapped in foil really tightly. I don’t see why they wouldn’t be. A lot of nights because I only cook for myself. This size plate would be too big but when we have family dinners and I cook for everybody they’re perfect andLast night I heated up a humongous helping of spaghetti and meatballs in the microwave. The reason it was a huge is because I was because I always share my food with my dogs unless it’s something that’s unhealthy for them or unsafe. For the maze part I just share whatever me I’m having unless it has something bad for them on it or in it.I microwaved it two minutes at a time, and I noticed towards the end it was starting to weaken. It wasn’t bad. When I put it in the microwave, I could do it with one hand, and it was sturdy. After several minutes of microwaving, I noticed that I had to take it out with both hands because it was starting to sag and we can towards the middle of the. I would’ve given this five stars if it wasn’t for the fact that it did start to weaken a little, but it had a lot of heavy food on it.I’m glad I ordered these. My favorite thing is that I can separate my food into the different compartments, but I appreciate that it is microwavable and I suspect if I wrapped something tightly in foil, I could even freeze you with it if it was for a short amount of time. If I was having a large gathering where I was planning to use disposable plates and I had the money for them. These would be my choice. There’s so much better than paper plates.

An interesting alternative to Styrofoam or paper plates that greatly outperforms both.
To be honest, I didn't know what to expect for this. I always hated after a gathering, the amount and the bulk to Styrofoam plates we were throwing away. They're not terribly convenient either. They're bad with hot food; I always wonder what chemicals are leaching into the food when they hold hot food. Paper plates aren't any better either. Even the waxed ones eventually succumb to moisture in the food.My initial impression of this palm leaf plate was... wow, it's big. And pretty deep. I can see myself filling this up and getting almost full. Can't say that with the average Styrofoam or paper plate. I tested it with hot water to see how it'd hold up to moisture and it did really well. I mean, it's not going to last all day, probably not, anyway. But I could definitely trust this with thick beef stew or gumbo. One downside is, it's fairly bulky. Not only it's thicker than a comparable Styro or paper, they don't nest perfectly, which I guess is the limitation from the material and its forming method. Since it's a natural material, there are some irregularities than high-pressure pressing isn't going to make completely uniform. So a stack of 50 palm leaf plates is going take up more space than 50 Styro or paper. More than 100, probably.I don't particularly love the price, either. I got it for free through Vine so I can't say too much about it, but after I go through this, I probably will have to think long and hard if I want to re-order using my own money. At some point, I might look into re-using. If that's viable, then the value for money goes way up. I can see ourselves using a set for the duration of 2 or 3 day camping and then throwing them away at the end. If that works, then I think the value is good.

Pile on the food!
I wish they were just slightly bigger because they are sturdy plates. We use these during our Easter dinner with family. And you know whenever family gets together we're all bringing something and piling a lot onto a plate, you need something that holds up. These are well worth the money. I would like to probably get some of these again come Christmas time or for the next family get together. Makes cleanup a lot easier. Save yourself a headache I getting those cheap Styrofoam plates that crack under any weight and grab some of these and then your uncle Ted can pile on as much food as he wants without it breaking.

Much prettier than paper plates!
We will be using these at our summer camp, where our (adult) children bring lots of their friends for river rafting, camping out, parties, etc. These are folks who will definitely appreciate the eco friendly, compostable material. I really like the look of the palm leaf construction, as it has a kind of summertime vibe. The separate compartments will be functional and helpful for their picnics and cook outs. I am not as impressed with the sturdiness of the design. The material is thick, but the main section runs the full length of the plates, so there is no physical reinforcement all the way across. Several plates were cracked when received, running along the main compartment. Also, be aware that the plates are too big to rotate in all but the largest microwaves. I am not too sure of the value, as these currently are priced at almost a dollar per plate. Certainly, they are nicer and fancier, good for special occasions, but I wouldn't use them every day, as that would be quite expensive.
