The Father-Daughter Talk

Pastor Blake's, I've been following you on youtube for a while and I have listened to most of your video content. I must say, you have been a joy to watch and listen to. I wasn't really going to purchase this book but I did due to the fact that I have a 4 year old daughter who's father isn't present at all in her life because one day she will need to understand the tactics of men. Even though my father was present physically and financially, he still wasn't there emotionally nor did he tought me the game. This book really is extraordinary & it helped me in ways I couldn't have imagined. I find myself underlining/highlighting every line, word, or sentences because everything was so important and neccessary to know & understand. I will read this book over and over again. When my daughter reaches the age of understanding, I will definitely pass this treasure (your book) onto her. I wish I had this book 5-6 years ago or knew who you were, but like the saying goes, "better late, than never". Now, I can approach my mid 20's with God by myside & with the confidence and knowledge that your book gave to me about men and eventually this would aid in guiding my daughter so she doesn't make the same mistakes I've made. This book is NOT just for the "fatherless daughters" described by many sociologists and psychotherapists. To make this statement clear, I'd challenges you to consider professional athletes. Athletes with a good playbook still study their plays. They don't learn them and leave them on a shelf to collect dust--They REVIEW various techniques long after learning them in order to MASTER them. Since reading this text, I've been challenged to think more critically about my own, "Father Daughter talks" and I'd challenge other women to do the same. Are you REALLY applying those lessons and insights your father shared with you or are those lessons somewhere collecting dust in the far regions of your mind? Could this be part of the reason you've yet to become the woman you so deeply desire to be? You may have heard similar truths from your own father, but the GREAT thing is--WISDOM is something you CAN'T get enough of! Furthermore, if you were blessed to have a father that taught you how to avoid the pitfalls many women experience, you have a responsibility to pass that wisdom on--this book will equip you in doing JUST that! Women of ALL ages and walks of life need the wisdom that is in this text. There are things that were apart of my "process" of becoming the woman that I am today, that this book explains in a way that is down to Earth and easy to comprehend. As women, we also need to understand that even when we've matured, we can't forget those lessons that were shared with us. We have to share them in order to keep ourselves motivated and to pass on tools to the next generation. Simply put, read this book and share it with others. It will give you the tools you need to empower others and further empower yourself!

I am so grateful to this author, Pastor Blakes, Jr., whom I randomly came across on amazon, for writing this book. I am an avid reader, and this book is something really special, it fills a gap in the market. If Oprah were still running, I'd recommend it to her book club. There are a lot of self-help, psychology and spiritual books out there, but this book truly is unique in that it provides women a compass to navigate toward positive and rewarding relationships with men and steer clear of the duds. He writes this book as if he's talking to you and he writes in a refreshing and honest way. I think this man sees how so many women are carrying hurt from how they've been treated. Many women come from fatherless homes or their father was home but not truly present, and he sees how this can adversely affect a woman for her lifetime without knowledge to overcome it. Too bad I didn't read this book earlier! Pastor Blakes Jr. really does want to help women avoid the pitfalls of abuse and treasure themselves. He sees this as a spiritual mission and it shows. It doesn't matter what faith you are, read this book.

I read the entire book the same day I got it! Not having my Dad present in my Life changed my perspective as a young woman; so much so that I found myself experiencing unhealthy connections and sabotaging healthy ones because of rejection! STOP THE CYCLE of entertaining toxicity Sis!! This book will help you understand why and how women constantly get played (NOT implying all men are the same, because that's not true). RC breaks down the different roles men play to manipulate women, and witfully intertwines the Word of God into this book to add just enough SALT and LIGHT! The Father Daughter talk is God using RC to speak to women on real-life terms. Terms that we need to hear from someone we can trust. Things our brothers, uncles, grandfathers, dads, and cousins would've taught us had they known better. Be empowered and know that your NO is anointed!!! I recommend this to all young ladies going into high school and college, to open their eyes to see what ISN'T Godly, so you can more easily discern what is! If you have relationship questions always ask the HOLY SPIRIT FIRST, then get this book! It will enlighten you. - Shalom

"I was browsing on YouTube about a year ago not looking for nothing particularly. When one of the title in Pastor RC Blakes vidoes caught my attention. I stop in the middle of the video and immediately subscribe and been watching his videos faithfully. When I tell you he is a true Man of God. I'm so thankful the HolyGost lead me to click on one of his vidoes. This man of God taught me so much about how men are great actors. The extremes they would go through just to get sex. How the game go and how to avoid getting played, manipulated, and heartbroken by their grown boy tactics. To recognize the red flags take heed to them. I watch the father daughter video and it lead me to purchasing this item. This book is awesome and taught me even more insight on men. Every woman definitely needs to invest in this book." This is what I need as well being a 39yrs old African American male in this day and time. I grew up in the 80's and 90's when things was much different. As I got older, I seen a lot of what you women are talking about. I grew up in a single parent home, with just a mother, an I seen first hand, what a man can do, when he leaves the family he help create and doesn't won't no part of his creation. I don't won't you ladies to think all men are bad in this world, myself am a believer in Father God and Jesus Christ&Holy Spirit. This book was right on point about everything, I'm so graceful to have run across it for my studies, I've had great bible teachers in the past from the passed Dr Walter Martin and recently passed Dr Chuck&Nancy Missler, Stephen Darby. Elder G.Craige Lewis,Pastor Mac Brown are all of my study help to better understand the spiritual fight we are in. An to all my lovely sisters Africans,African Americans,Armenians,Asians,European Causicians,Spanish,Hispanics,Native Americans,Iranians,East Indians women. You are all 1 Blood from one father Adam and 1 mother Eve. We are all descendantsof Noah and his 3 sons Shem,Japheth,Ham. God created all of you for the men to hold and cherish, it breaks my heart to see the world in the shape it is. Because a hand full of men treat women bad, it make the rest of us look like losers or a waste of time for most women. Let Jesus Christ leads you in knowledge on how to get a good man. I came across the author on YouTube, and, when I learned he had written The Father Daughter Talk, I went to Amazon to buy a copy, but it was sold out. I had to wait for my copy, and I am glad to have finally received it. It is filled with many sentences of wisdom. One of the most important appears in my subject line: "Test him", and it refers to R.C. Blakes's advice to women to test their suitors. Many women these days are bludgeoned and weakened by their social conditioning---just think of all the "love" songs targeting women where she is either falling apart or completed because of a man. Whitney Houston's "I have NOTHING, NOTHING, NOTHING (she actually does sing this thrice) if I don't have you" comes to mind, but that's just one example of many. Men are NOT nearly as targeted by social conditioning to feel as worthless as women without a counterpart. R.C. Blakes insinuates that the reason for this is that if the playing field were actually equal, intelligent women would surpass men in mastery (page 131). So, it would seem, society conspired to keep the mature, intelligent, dynamic woman down and "in her place". Furthermore, it seems that when women DO get to positions of power in most conventional workplaces, they often lose femininity, becoming more like men, to get (and stay) there. There's a lot of so-called men out there who are only trying to use women, and, this kind of man, as the author points out on page 137: "is only paying attention because of what he wants from her. Once he's reached his HIDDEN desire, he often moves on". R.C. Blakes gives the antidote to this female social conditioning and mistreatment. Encapsulated, it appears on page 75: "Don't settle for treatment that is beneath you". Elaborated, that means, on page 74: "A woman has to become intolerant of promises, wishes, and hopes". THIS is what a man who seeks to use her will prey upon---that, despite evidence to the contrary, she will cling to "promises, wishes, and hopes", and that will be used against her to serve him. One of my favorite Quotes appears on page 110, and expounds upon the premise of being intolerant of mistreatment. I will copy it in full here and end my review with it: "Have it etched in your mind that there are certain levels beneath which you will not stoop. You should be so resolute concerning this that you are willing to live single for the rest of your days before you allow yourself to be degraded and disrespected".

This book is a phenomenal read! I grew up without a father in my home. I wish that I discovered this book 10 years ago. It could have prevented my heartache and marrying the wrong person. Women have a trusting nature and this book removes the veil. My daughter will read this, when she becomes a teenager. All the young ladies in my life, will been given this book. God bless RC Blakes for the transformative book!

For any women who is feeling used, abused, heartbroken and confused as to why no relationship will work out for her. This book has changed the game by opening my eyes to the games men play. A real eye opener. Thank you R.C Blakes. My spiritual father.

Hmmm mixed feelings about this. As a Christian woman striving for holiness I found a bit of inconsistencys especially the part where he talks about modesty and how modesty back in the days of Paul would not apply today. God's word is the same yesterday, today and forever more. Other than that, there are a few other things I didn't agree with. But, needless to say; It was good to get the perspective of a man and how good it is to value yourself as a woman.

I very rarely leave reviews, but I must say, that this is one of the most valuable books, which one, especially women, could ever possibly hope to read. I started reading it a few hours ago and I am already halfway through it. It has helped me tremendously in putting some puzzle pieces together and shedding lights on many questions in a way, that is easy to understand and follow. Thank you Pastor R.C. Blakes for offering us to opportunity to open our eyes!

Wonderful book, love listening to Bishop Blakes teachings. Wish I knew these principles when I was younger. A must read for teenage daughters, nieces, women of any age to understand what we need to guard ourselves from and knowing your value.
