It's really very simple. By allowing the ceramic disc to separate further from the remaining part, hereinafter refered to as 'the grinding chassis' remarked A. in the patent drawing, any remaining ground substance, whether pepper, salt, or another substance will first be cleared in due course by the rotating action and vibration inherent in the grinding process; additional spices or other substances will be forced through the separation, now greater than prior to adjustment of the aforesaid mechanism, B. in the patent drawings, by a combination of gravity for the feed and resistance to the torsional action of the rotating parts combined with a pinching and tearing action effectuated by the rotating parts versus the stationary part along with additional feeding action, C. in the original pagent drawings, page 17&18, hereinafter referred to as a 'grinding action' utilized herein for the purpose of particulate diminution, pulverizing and distribution thereof such spices, peppers, salts and or other substances previously approved for such use, list in appendix C. Tighten or loosen the knob with a system in re: righty-tighty, lefty-loosy, step on a goosey-footy-to-see (as seen from above.)

What type of warranty comes with these shakers?

I don't recall whether or not there was a warranty, but our other salt and people shakers that we have had for over 35 years didn't have a warranty. There really isn't much to put a warranty on. They are glass with metal tops and very simple plastic grinders that work by turning the grinders upside down and turning the top by hand. The grinder parts may eventually wear out, but for the price these are nice salt and pepper grinders. We like them. If you purchase them, you will get an email from the company asking you to contact them with any questions or concerns. They will tell you how to use and take care of them, and I thought the customer contact was a nice touch. They really wanted to make sure we were happy with our purchase.

Can i use it for grinding  sesame seeds or chia seeds?

I would think Yes - although I have not tried it.  They are able to make a really fine grind so I think the seeds would work well for that.  Also these have quality ceramic  blades, not plastic which always break.
