A great and useful purchase
This one do unit did wonders for our old AC in our shop. Just measure and cut.

Feels like a piece of felt. I needed to help w/odors. No difference. Maybe not "activated" carbon.
It's what it says it is, I guess. I just needed a piece of carbon filter. Maybe "activated" charcoal filter was what I needed. Looks/feels like a piece of felt. Might be a great replacement for whatever it replaces. Doesn't really absorb odor, so I'm not sure of it's actual use.

Not as advertised
This is sold as pure carbon. Whrn exposed to heat it melts and has a plastic smell.For me it is useless, but it will probably work for 95% who order it.But I'm only giving it one star because it's like every other cheap plastic filter with carbon on it and is not pure carbon
